Summary: We report the preparation, characterization, and heating efficiencies of undoped and Co-doped gamma-Fe2O3 nanoparticles for magnetic hyperthermia applications. The undoped gamma-Fe2O3 nanoparticles showed better heating efficiency compared to Co-doped samples. The results demonstrate the potential of these nanoparticles for magnetic hyperthermia applications.

Summary: Two iron-based nanomaterials (IONs-1 and IONs-2) were synthesized from zero-valent iron nanoparticles (IONs-0) using different methods, showing distinct phases and morphology, with high specific surface areas. Both materials exhibited efficient removal of Direct Red 80 dye, achieving close to 100% removal rate.

Summary: In this study, time-resolved experimental techniques were used to investigate the structural evolution during the growth of Fe3O4 ultrathin films on different substrates using reactive molecular beam epitaxy. The results show that the growth process of Fe3O4 films involves both rock salt and inverse spinel structures, with the film initially adopting a rock salt structure and then transitioning to an inverse spinel structure as the film thickness increases.

Summary: Iron oxide nanoparticles were successfully prepared via mechanochemical synthesis from three different reactive systems. The study investigated the effects of various iron salts and metallic iron on the properties of the nanoparticles, and determined high magnetization of the obtained iron oxide nanoparticles across a range of temperatures. The presence of metallic iron was found to be crucial in the formation of magnetic phases in the nanoparticles.

Summary: The effect of thermal annealing on the structural, optical and magnetic properties of alpha-Fe2O3/Ni1+xFe2-xO4 nanocomposites was investigated. The results showed that annealing increased the NiFe2O4 phase and magnetization of the nanocomposites. The annealing temperature had no effect on the optical properties of the samples, but led to the formation of irregular elliptical particles. All synthesized samples displayed effective exchange coupling and ferromagnetic features at room temperature.

Summary: Iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have gained interest in biomedicine and research due to their moderate cytotoxicity and advanced properties. This study presents a modified one-step coprecipitation method using glycine, which allows the production of MNPs with controlled size and in situ surface decoration. The results show that increasing the glycine concentration reduces the particle size and affects the magnetic properties. This environmentally friendly and cost-effective approach has potential applications in biomedicine and wastewater treatment.

Summary: Paleomagnetic investigations of Paleocene lavas from Dianzhong Formation in Linzhou basin of southern Lhasa terrane are essential for determining the timing and paleolatitude of the initial India-Asia collision. However, controversy exists regarding the preservation of primary remanent magnetization in these rocks. This study finds that hydrothermal alteration has significantly impacted the original magnetic carrier, resulting in the contamination or replacement of the primary remanence by thermoviscous and chemical remanent magnetizations.
