Summary: The study identified various gene mutations in bladder cancer patients, but no significant association with overall survival was found. PD-L1 status was positively correlated with CD8 expression and TILs, but not with overall survival. Immunohistochemistry-based subtypes had a significant impact on PD-L1 expression.

Summary: This study retrospectively assessed the therapeutic outcomes of adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with advanced upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) after radical nephroureterectomy (RNU). The results showed that adjuvant chemotherapy significantly improved overall survival, cancer-specific survival, and disease-free survival in advanced UTUC patients.

Summary: This study evaluated the impact of Adult Comorbidity Evaluation-27 (ACE-27) grade on the clinical outcomes of non-metastatic UTUC patients and found that a high ACE-27 grade was an independent risk factor for UTUC progression, UTUC-specific death, and all-cause mortality. Integrating ACE-27 grade with other clinical features can improve predictive performance and accuracy.

Summary: This study evaluated the protein expression and amplification of ERBB2 in UTUCs using immunohistochemistry and fluorescence in situ hybridization. The findings showed that 10.2% of UTUCs had ERBB2 overexpression and 41.8% had ERBB2 amplification. ERBB2 overexpression was associated with tumor aggressiveness and progression, while ERBB2 amplification was associated with disease progression and shorter survival. Additionally, UTUC patients treated with platin had lower progression-free survival regardless of their ERBB2 status. These results suggest that ERBB2 may serve as a biomarker for progression in UTUCs and could potentially guide targeted therapy in ERBB2-amplified cases.

Summary: This retrospective analysis studied the treatment outcomes of 70 patients with poorly differentiated lung neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs). The study found similar results in terms of ORR, DCR, PFS, and OS between patients treated with either cisplatin or carboplatin in combination with etoposide. Overall survival rate was low, indicating a poor prognosis for high grade lung NENs.

Summary: This study investigated the prognostic value of site-specific metastases in patients with metastatic upper tract urothelial carcinoma (mUTUC) and its association with survival outcomes. The results showed that distant lymph nodes were the most common site of single-organ metastasis in mUTUC patients. Patients with liver metastases and multiple organ metastases had worse survival outcomes. Additionally, chemotherapy and radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) were identified as predictors of better survival outcomes in mUTUC patients.

Summary: The study found that despite comparable safety profiles, patients with PS >= 2 showed worse overall response rates and overall survival compared to those with PS <= 1. Among patients with impaired performance status, those with NLR <3.5 and no liver metastasis may benefit the most from pembrolizumab therapy.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the tissue expression of S100/calgranulins and the blood NLR in dogs with UC. The results showed that the expression of S100A12 was significantly increased in dogs with lower urinary tract disease. NLR has the potential to distinguish UC from inflammatory conditions, and higher NLRs are associated with poor survival time.

Summary: Summary: Poor functional status is common among older patients hospitalized for heart failure (HF) and is associated with worse prognosis. This study examined the prognostic value of 6-min walk test after transitional cardiac rehabilitation in older patients with HF. The results showed that increasing 6-min walk distance after rehabilitation was associated with a decreased risk of death, particularly in the subgroup with preserved EF.

Summary: This study found that upfront cytoreductive nephrectomy (CN) is associated with improved clinical outcomes and overall survival in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors or targeted therapy.
