Summary: This systematic review aimed to assess the differences in serum biomarkers between sham acupuncture and verum acupuncture. The study found that most of the serum biomarkers showed no significant differences between the two treatments, except for a few specific biomarkers. However, the overall risk of bias in the included studies and the limited number of studies for meta-analysis may affect the reliability of the results.
