The same old medicine but cheaper: The impact of patent expiry on physicians' prescribing behaviour

The analysis focuses on the economic impact of generic entries of simvastatin and atorvastatin. The study finds significant variations in long-term trends and abrupt jumps in volumes and number of patients, particularly affecting the molecules losing patent protection. The findings suggest that physicians' prescribing behavior is sensitive to price changes, even in a healthcare system where patients and physicians are protected from financial consequences.

Summary: A novel prognostic gene signature based on 3 RMWs was established in this study, which was validated through qPCR analysis, GEO datasets, and independent OS tissues, showing that high-risk patients had poor overall survival and the prognostic signature was an independent prognostic factor for OS. Functional studies revealed that pathways related to tumor, metabolism, cell cycle, and immune were associated with high risk.

Summary: The study aimed to test whether the addition of VTC to interval compressed chemotherapy improved survival outcomes for Ewing sarcoma patients. The results showed no difference in survival outcomes between the two groups, with age and primary site not affecting the EFS event risk, but age >= 18 years being associated with increased risk of death at 5 years.
