Summary: This study compared the efficacy and safety of CANA/MET combination therapy and MET monotherapy in overweight and obese women with PCOS. The results suggest that CANA/MET combination therapy may be similar to MET monotherapy in improving menstrual frequency, weight control, hyperandrogenemia, and relieving insulin resistance.

Summary: The combination of metformin and simvastatin is more effective in treating PCOS compared to metformin alone, with advantages in improving sex hormone levels, blood lipids, and blood sugar. However, the safety of this therapy still needs to be further explored in clinical studies with high-quality and large samples.

Summary: Metformin combined with spironolactone therapy may be more effective in reducing BMI and serum androgen levels in PCOS patients. However, it does not have a significant effect on hirsutism score or gonadotropin hormone levels, and is not associated with an elevation in side-effects. When the treatment course is greater than 6 months, combination therapy can effectively reduce FBG and improve insulin resistance.

Summary: ZEB1 and ZEB2, as transcription factors, regulate epithelial-mesenchymal transformation (EMT). However, they do not seem to have significant value in the initial diagnosis of endometriosis as single markers. Elevated plasma ZEB2 levels in infertile patients might indicate a role of EMT dysregulation in the pathogenesis of adverse fertility outcomes.

Summary: This study analyzed the concentrations of fibronectin and type IV collagen in peritoneal fluid and plasma, aiming to evaluate their potential as biomarkers for the diagnosis of endometriosis. Summary: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between lactoferrin and iron and its binding proteins in women with endometriosis. The results showed differences in lactoferrin, transferrin, ferritin, and iron levels between plasma and peritoneal fluid. Lactoferrin levels in plasma were associated with iron and transferrin in endometriosis, while lactoferrin in peritoneal fluid correlated with lactoferrin, iron, and transferrin in patients without endometriosis. The study suggests that assessing iron metabolism may be useful in diagnosing and monitoring endometriosis.

Summary: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age, with complex and unclear pathogenesis possibly involving genetic and environmental factors, including endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs). Disruption of granulosa and theca cell interactions can lead to endocrine disorders like PCOS. This article reviews the pathophysiology of PCOS, the role of granulosa and theca cells in its development, and the evidence linking exposure to EDCs with reproductive disorders such as PCOS.
