Thermophysical properties of liquid Ti are measured by a newly developed electrostatic levitation. In this study, we measure a hypercooling limit (Delta T-hyp), specific heat (C-p), total hemispherical emissivity (epsilon(T)), and density (rho) of liquid Ti. The Delta T-hyp of the liquid Ti is 341 K. The C-p of the liquid Ti shows very weak temperature dependence during supercooling. The epsilon(T) and rho of the liquid Ti are given by 0.329 and rho(T) (g/cm(3)) = (4.16 - 2.36) . 10 (4) (T - T-m). Finally, the interfacial free energy is estimated with the measured thermophysical parameters. The interfacial free energy is 0.164 J/m(2), and Turnbull's coefficient is 0.48. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd.
