Summary: This study presents a label-free aptamer biosensor based on gold nanoparticles/multi-walled carbon nanotubes @ titanium dioxide (AuNPs/MWCNTs@TiO2) for sensitive detection of malachite green (MG). The nanocomposite provides a large surface area and good electrical conductivity, facilitating aptamer immobilization. The detection is achieved by measuring the change in electrical signal resulting from the detachment of aptamer from complementary chain (cDNA) and binding to MG. Under optimal conditions, the sensor demonstrates good linearity and a low limit of detection (LOD).

Summary: In contrast to hypervalent iodine(III) compounds, little research has been done on isoelectronic bromine(III) compounds. A new method for preparing chelation-stabilized lambda(3)-bromanes was presented in this study, demonstrating their synthetic utility in oxidative reactions. The reactivity of stable bromine(III) species can be unlocked by the addition of a Lewis or a Bronsted acid, leading to the formation of C-C, C-N, and C-O bonds.

Summary: A highly specific electrochemical sensor was developed for the identification and detection of quetiapine (QTPF). The modification of a carbon paste electrode (CPE) with a nanocomposite of iron, lithium ions, and manganese based on nitro-doped carbon enhanced the limit of detection and identification of QTPF. The nanocomposites were characterized using SEM, XRD, and FTIR. The electrochemical behavior of the drug with the modified electrode was studied using cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry, chronoamperometry, and EIS. The sensor showed a linear range of 0.090-900 μM and a detection limit of 0.011 μM.

Summary: Advancements in supercapacitor performance are driven by both material design and device architecture adjustments. This study focuses on designing unique dead-weight free supercapacitors based on PANI electrochemically deposited on free-standing SWCNT films. The research shows that thin free-standing films of SWCNTs with deposited PANI are less prone to self-discharge, enabling higher gravimetric capacitance values.

Summary: In this study, sulfur and nitrogen-doped multi-walled carbon nanotubes (S-N-MWCNTs) were grown on a silicon/silicon oxide wafer using chemical vapor deposition. The S-N-MWCNTs exhibited a bamboo-shaped nanostructure, similar to nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes. The electrochemical response, electron transfer kinetics, and sensitivity of the S-N-MWCNTs towards ferrocyanide/ferricyanide were found to depend strongly on the concentration of decomposed dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) precursor.

Summary: In this study, the heats of solution of hydrocarbons and alcohols with 2-methyltetrahydrofuran are systematically analyzed. Structure-property relationships are developed to calculate the enthalpy of solvation of aliphatic alcohols in 2-methyltetrahydrofuran. Specific interactions in the alcohol-2-methyltetrahydrofuran systems are determined to better understand intermolecular interactions in 2-methyltetrahydrofuran solutions. This research provides valuable insights into the properties and energies of these interactions, facilitating the transition to more environmentally friendly solvents.
