Summary: By using bioinformatics analysis, we identified abnormal methylated differentially expressed genes in Ka-wasaki disease and established a random forest diagnostic model. We identified 6 hub genes which improved our understanding of the molecular mechanism of KD. The constructed model can be used for accurate diagnosis and provide evidence for clinical diagnosis.

Summary: Idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH) is a fatal cardiovascular disease with significant morbidity and mortality. In this study, differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified in individuals with IPAH and normal controls, revealing potential key genes and pathways involved in the pathogenesis of IPAH. Hub genes such as TLR7, JUN, and CXCR4 showed high diagnostic value in discriminating IPAH from normal individuals, suggesting they may serve as novel biomarkers for IPAH diagnosis.

Summary: This study used statistical and machine learning methods to identify key candidate genes for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most common lethal malignancy of the liver. By analyzing gene expression profile datasets, differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified and support vector machine (SVM) was used to determine differentially expressed discriminative genes (DEDGs). Enrichment analysis and protein-protein interaction (PPI) network construction were performed to select central hub genes, and six key candidate genes were determined by intersecting shared genes among central hub genes, hub module genes, and significant meta-hub genes. Validation and prognostic potential evaluation were conducted on independent test datasets.

Summary: This study aimed to understand the interaction of the brain-gonad system in Clarias magur reproduction by analyzing differentially expressed genes (DEG). Thirteen key genes in female brain & ovary and twelve key genes in male brain & testis were identified based on network analysis. Functional annotation revealed their involvement in important reproduction-related pathways. This study provides insights into the interaction between the brain and gonads in the regulation of Clarias magur reproduction through a protein-protein interaction network.

Summary: Analyzing hub genes related to tumorigenesis using big data has become a hot topic in biomedicine. In this study, a total of 603 DEGs were identified from expression profiles of HCC and normal tissue obtained from the GEO database. PPI networks were constructed and 5 hub genes were identified and used to construct a prognostic model for HCC.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the molecular mechanisms of atrial fibrillation (AF) and identified several key genes and pathways involved in AF pathogenesis. The results indicated that macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF), MYC proto-oncogene, bHLH transcription factor (MYC), and inhibitor of differentiation 1 (ID1) may participate in the progression of AF through the TGF-beta and Hippo signaling pathways.

Summary: In this study, differentially expressed genes associated with COVID-19 in glioblastoma (GBM) were identified using gene expression data and bioinformatics methods. Potential therapeutic drugs were also predicted. The study found that these genes are involved in pathways related to viral infection, immune system, and neuronal system, providing important clues for understanding the common mechanisms of GBM and COVID-19.

Summary: This study investigates the molecular mechanisms and hub genes associated with osteoarthritis (OA) using bioinformatics analysis. Differential gene expression analysis and GO/KEGG pathway analysis were performed on OA synovial tissue samples. Various upregulated and downregulated genes were identified, with upregulated genes involved in immune response and cell adhesion, and downregulated genes enriched in response to mechanical stimuli and the MAPK signaling pathway. Several intersection genes and hub genes were also identified. These findings provide insights into the molecular mechanisms of OA and may contribute to the development of biomarkers and drug targets.

Summary: This study identified four hub genes (SLC18A2, L1CAM, S100A12, and CXCR4) and seven immune cell types (neutrophils, T follicular helper cells, myeloid-derived suppressor cells, type 1 helper cells, immature B cells, immature dendritic cells, and CD56 bright natural killer cells) associated with the pathogenesis of PD. The combined model of the four genes showed a high accuracy in differentiating PD patients from healthy controls.
