Defining a no-reference image quality assessment by means of the self-affine analysis

Summary: This paper introduces a novel Blind Image Quality Assessment method, BIQSAA, which considers self-affine analysis in wavelet transformation. The method decomposes distorted images into wavelet planes of different spatial frequencies and orientations, transforming them into one-dimensional vectors for analysis of wavelet coefficient fluctuations. Experiments show that BIQSAA algorithm improves Human Visual System correlation by 14.36% compared to state-of-the-art No-Reference Image Quality Assessments.

Domain Fingerprints for No-Reference Image Quality Assessment

Summary: This study introduces a new no-reference image quality assessment method, incorporating the concept of domain fingerprint. By designing a new domain-aware architecture, the method is able to simultaneously determine the distortion sources and quality of an image. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms most existing state-of-the-art NR-IQA methods.

No-Reference Image Quality Assessment by Hallucinating Pristine Features

Generalizable No-Reference Image Quality Assessment via Deep Meta-Learning

Summary: Recently, there has been great interest in using CNNs for NR-IQA. However, existing metrics in optimizing CNN-based NR-IQA models are limited due to the lack of large training data. In this study, a deep meta-learning based NR-IQA metric is proposed, which achieves high generalization ability and outperforms state-of-the-art methods in both evaluation performance and generalization ability.

No-Reference Screen Content Image Quality Assessment With Unsupervised Domain Adaptation

TTL-IQA: Transitive Transfer Learning Based No-Reference Image Quality Assessment

The method utilizes multi-domain transitive transfer learning and a generative adversarial network based on distortion translation to construct auxiliary domains and tasks, as well as optimize shared features using a TTL network. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method compared to existing methods and its strong generalization ability.

Summary: The study aimed to identify the subgroup of acute ischemic stroke patients who may benefit from a potential neuroprotective drug using baseline outcome predictors and analyze the impact of different selection criteria strategies on treatment effect. Results indicated a quadratic relationship between FIV and 5-day National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, with treatment effect being influenced by exclusion of patients with predicted larger infarct volumes or expected excellent outcomes. This suggests that CT perfusion imaging on admission may help in selecting appropriate patients for stroke neuroprotective drug trials.

Summary: There is no doubt about the necessity for a shift towards sustainable agriculture, with agriculture being a major contributor to environmental impacts. Through an inductive qualitative content analysis of various definitions and theories, four fundamental principles for sustainable agriculture were identified: integrated management, dynamic balance, regenerative design, and social development. To make our current agricultural systems more efficient and sustainable, better utilization of natural and human resources is crucial. This work provides guidelines for decision-making and methodology application in the context of sustainable agriculture.
