Summary: This report presents cases of ceramic liner dissociation from a monoblock cup in 5 patients. The patients experienced sudden pain and audible noise, and the displacement of the liner was confirmed by X-ray and CT scans. Further research should consider avoiding cup diameters over 40mm, improving the locking mechanism, or providing a true monoblock acetabular implant.

Summary: The study compared the long-term outcomes between MoM LDH THA and HR, finding that MoM LDH THA had better pain and function scores, but higher revision rate and metal ion levels.

Summary: The hollow structure of large-diameter ring piles reduces concrete usage, improves cost efficiency, and reduces pile weight. This study utilized indoor scale model tests and numerical simulations to investigate the properties of the LDRP structure. The findings indicate that LDRPs exhibit similar bearing capacity to large-diameter solid piles within a specific range, ensuring sufficient safety reserves. Additionally, LDRPs can achieve concrete savings of up to 50%.

Summary: In a study of 57 patients with unilateral primary LDH CoC THA, whole blood Ti, Cr, and Co levels were measured at a minimum of 5 years. The results showed that Ti levels were low, with all values below the safety threshold, and in a subgroup of patients with previous measurements, a decrease in mean Ti levels was observed over time. At last follow-up, no patients exhibited radiological signs of osteolysis, clinical signs of ARMD, or required reoperation. The majority of patients had excellent clinical outcomes with 98% reporting no or minor functional limitations, and 44% considering their THA as natural hip joint.

Summary: The laboratory studies show that water flow can reduce the bearing capacity of monopiles and result in an increase in scouring depth. In the initial stage of bearing vertical loads, the capacity of monopiles to resist eccentric lateral loads slightly increases.

Summary: The study selects the optimal segment thickness and clarifies the bearing performance of large inner-diameter shield tunnels. The analysis using numerical modeling and full-scale testing shows that increasing segment thickness can reduce convergence deformation of the tunnel. Under lateral unloading conditions, the internal force of the tunnel structure increases significantly.

Summary: This study systematically reviewed and meta-analyzed the performance of custom triflange acetabular components (CTAC) in revision total hip arthroplasty (THA) surgery. The results showed satisfactory complication and implant failure rates, as well as improved post-operative clinical outcomes with the use of CTAC.

Summary: This study evaluated the effectiveness of the SuperPath technique in terms of radiographic outcomes. The results showed that good radiographic values of acetabular cup orientation can be achieved through SuperPath within Lewinnek's safe zone. However, there was no statistically significant improvement in these radiographic parameters over a four-year time.

Summary: In this paper, a double conical strain wedge (DCSW) model is proposed to simulate the large-diameter rigid pile-soil interaction and predict the lateral subgrade reaction. A nonlinear analysis method is developed to consider the effect of vertical side shear stress, pile end bending moment, and shear force on the horizontal response of large-diameter rigid piles in layered cohesionless soil. The rationality of the DCSW model is verified by comparing its predictions with experimental and theoretical results. The study also reveals the presence of a rotation point at a certain depth range and the ability of vertical side shear stress to enhance the horizontal bearing capacity of the pile.

Summary: This study presents the short-term results and survivorship of a fixed-bearing unicompartmental knee replacement (UKR) designed specifically for the lateral compartment. The results demonstrate that this UKR is an excellent alternative to total knee replacement for selected patients with isolated lateral tibiofemoral arthritis at short-term follow-up.
