Summary: Abnormal blood flow in the early stage of embryonic heart can lead to cardiac defects. Accurate flow measurement in the embryonic heart is important for related studies. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a noninvasive imaging approach that can provide high-resolution flow velocity distribution information. The proposed method in this study introduces a dividing head to probe the arm of OCT, allowing for the measurement of the Doppler angle and the calculation of absolute flow velocity. The method is validated using a capillary phantom and further applied to measure blood flow in the early stage of chicken embryo in vivo.

Summary: Dynamic light scattering (DLS) is a fascinating approach allowing for real-time, non-invasive characterization of small particles undergoing Brownian motion in randomly inhomogeneous turbid scattering medium. The DLS-based techniques are widely used for blood flow and perfusion analysis in biological tissues. In this work, a review of the recent advances in DLS imaging is presented.

Summary: In the field of otology, optical coherence tomography (OCT) has played a crucial role in non-invasively obtaining morphological structure of tissues, especially in measuring the entire region of tympanic membrane. Doppler OCT, as a functional extension of OCT, has been applied to combine motion information with structural data of tissue in otology. Over the years, Doppler OCT systems have evolved in various forms to improve the measuring sensitivity of phase difference.

Summary: The study explored velocity waveform characteristics of the retinal artery related to age and CAVI with DOCT flowmeter, finding UTc correlated positively with age, while area declination was negatively correlated with both age and CAVI. This indicates that DOCT flowmeter analysis could potentially offer a new method for identifying arterial stiffness beyond traditional pressure waveform measurement methods.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of monocular transcorneal electrical stimulation (TES) on the ciliary muscle (CM) and found that stimulation results in thickening of the CM, possibly due to increased blood flow or interstitial fluid. Furthermore, stimulation of the contralateral eye also led to CM thickening in the ipsilateral eye, indicating involvement of the central control circuit of accommodation.

Summary: This paper presents a processing approach for optical coherence tomography (OCT) based on a multi-window method, which improves resolution and suppresses side-lobe intensity. By selecting appropriate window functions, the approach achieves better performance for phase-sensitive applications.

Summary: In this article, the authors successfully transformed the rotational Doppler signals from the low frequency domain to the high frequency domain using dual-frequency 2-fold multiplexed vortex light as the probe beam. The results showed minimal noise compared to measurements in the low frequency domain. The direction of rotation could be directly obtained by comparing the modulated signal and the reference signal.

Summary: The study aimed to determine the association between arterial stiffness predicted by brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (PWV) and structural progression in early open-angle glaucoma. The results showed that high PWV was associated with macular ganglion cell-inner plexiform layer (mGCIPL) loss preceding peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (ppRNFL) loss.
