Summary: This article introduces a metal-coded mass tagging approach that enables the multiplexed quantification of the PNC uptake in cells using mass spectrometry. The conjugation of different metals to the PNCs allows the simultaneous multiplexed analysis of multiple distinct PNCs, which should improve the design and optimization of PNCs.

Summary: This study developed and evaluated controlled release polymeric nanoparticles loaded with Ondansetron HCl (OND) with high encapsulation efficiency (EE). The optimized formulation exhibited appropriate particle size, zeta potential, and encapsulation efficiency, and sustained drug release. In vitro experiments showed that the optimized formulation had minimal cytotoxicity on cells and high cell viability.

Summary: The surface chemistry of nanoparticles has a significant impact on their cellular uptake, and the residual groups of chain transfer agents (CTAs) introduced in the main chain can modulate the cell uptake of nanoparticles. This study demonstrates that the cellular internalization of functionalized nanoparticles can be controlled by the compaction of the PEG comb-like shell incorporating CTAs with a long alkyl chain, without changing the overall surface potential.

Summary: This study explores the use of cyclic arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (cRGD) peptide-decorated polymeric micelles for tumor-targeted drug delivery. The results show that decoration density, incubation time and temperature, and the expression levels of the alpha(v)beta(3) integrin receptor on target cells all influence the uptake of cRGD-decorated polymeric micelles by the target cells.

Summary: Polymeric nanoparticles, specifically PLGA NPs, have shown potential as carriers for drug delivery targeting cumulus cells and oocytes, with evidence of uptake by cumulus cells and to a lesser extent by oocytes. The transfer of PLGA NPs to the oocytes appears to occur via transcellular and paracellular pathways. These NPs did not affect cell viability or early embryo development, indicating promising applications in reproductive biotechnology.

Summary: This study developed photo-triggered implantable polymeric microneedles for drug delivery in a transdermal analgesia system. The prepared PCL/PVP-Fe(3)O(4)NPs were spherical in shape, with sizes ranging from 9 to 11 nm, and showed outstanding insertion ability in porcine skin. Additionally, near-infrared (NIR) irradiation could enhance drug delivery, allowing for painless delivery of lidocaine hydrochloride through the stratum corneum barrier, with a quick onset time.

Summary: This study aims to develop a delivery system for IMB16-4 to improve its solubility, cellular uptake, and anti-fibrotic effects. The results show that IMB16-4-LNPs have higher drug loading and cellular uptake compared to other delivery systems, and can suppress the expression of hepatic fibrogenesis-associated proteins, indicating significant anti-fibrotic effects.
