Summary: The evaluation of bilateral lung nodules on imaging is challenging due to the wide range of possible causes. This case study presents a woman with multiple lung nodules, which were ultimately found to be related to an underlying autoimmune condition (Sjogren's syndrome). Management with intravenous steroids resulted in significant improvement.

Summary: This case report presents a patient with sclerouveitis and alkaptonuria who developed multiple autoimmune syndrome (MAS) including Hashimoto's thyroiditis and Sjogren's syndrome. The patient had ocular symptoms such as decreased visual acuity, red eye, foreign body sensation, and ocular pain. Ophthalmological examination revealed conjunctival hyperemia, ochronosis, scleral nodule, keratic precipitates, anterior chamber cells, vitreous cells, and vitreous haze. In addition to immunomodulatory medications, biological treatment was suggested due to refractory response.

Summary: Sjogren's syndrome is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the salivary and lachrymal glands. It can be classified into primary and secondary forms, with varying degrees of severity. Sensorineural hearing loss can occur in some cases. This review article provides a comprehensive overview of the pathology, clinical manifestations, inner ear diseases, immunological characteristics, pathophysiology, treatment options, and future directions of Sjogren's syndrome.

Summary: This study explored a new taxonomy of ADs based on PolyA, finding that latent PolyA is more common than overt PolyA. The combination of autoantibodies allows high accuracy in the classification of ADs, and three distinct clusters based on PolyA were observed with unique clinical and immunological phenotypes.

Summary: This study aimed to compare clinical and proteomic predictors of primary Sjogren's syndrome (SjS) and non-SjS sicca syndrome (sicca), and identify the key predictors of symptoms. The results showed that obesity-related metabolic factors may regulate symptoms in sicca, while further research is needed to explore the non-inflammatory drivers of high symptom burden in SjS.

Summary: Although CVT is commonly caused by autoimmune diseases, such as lupus and antiphospholipid syndrome, CVT caused by Sjögren's syndrome is rarely reported. We present a case report of a 41-year-old woman with SS-induced CVT and review six additional cases, discussing the pathogenesis, clinical symptoms, treatment, and prognosis. This study aims to enhance clinicians' understanding of SS-induced CVT and minimize missed diagnoses.

Summary: The study revealed a significant association between gaseous pollutants and SS hospitalizations, with exposure to NO2 and CO linked to an increased risk of hospitalizations, while exposure to SO2 and O-3 may lower the risk. Patients of different genders and age groups showed varying sensitivities to gaseous pollutants, and exposure to O-3 and CO in the cold season were more likely to impact SS hospitalizations.

Summary: In the ever evolving landscape of systemic immune mediated diseases, there has been increased awareness regarding the associated cardiovascular system impairment. The cardiovascular profile of primary Sjogren's Syndrome (pSS), one of the most frequent autoimmune diseases affecting middle-aged individuals, has been less studied compared to other autoimmune diseases. The multifaceted cardiovascular risk profile in pSS is sometimes difficult to assess due to the intertwined traditional cardiovascular risk factors and disease specific risk factors. Recent data suggests a higher prevalence of subclinical myocardial and vascular damage in pSS compared to the general population. However, clinicians often face difficulty translating literature data into everyday practice when dealing with cardiovascular diseases in patients with pSS. This review aims to synthesize the existing evidence on pSS associated cardiovascular changes in a clinically relevant manner.

Summary: Primary Sjogren's syndrome (pSS) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by epithelitis and chronic inflammation of the exocrine glands. Lymphocytes infiltrate the affected organs, damaging the epithelial structures. Epithelial cells express major histocompatibility complexes and costimulatory molecules, activating T and B lymphocytes through cellular crosstalk pathways. Glandular epithelial cells are believed to be central regulators of the local autoimmune response.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis examined the relationship between coronary artery disease (CAD) assessed by coronary computed tomography (CT) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
