Summary: The study showed that group-based CBT-NREMP treatment for NREM parasomnias effectively reduced symptom severity, with sustained improvements observed during follow-up. These findings highlight the promising and safe nature of CBT-NREMP as a treatment option, especially when behavioral and psychological factors play a role. Further randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these results robustly.

Summary: Evidence-based psychological interventions for adults with ADHD are rarely available in clinical settings. Medication as the sole treatment often has non-optimal effects. However, internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT) and internet-based applied relaxation training (iART) can both significantly improve symptoms and serve as promising add-ons to medication, with sustained symptom reductions after one year.

Summary: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common neurological condition that affects primarily children but can also impact individuals across different age groups. Treatment options include psychological or psychiatric therapeutic interventions, though these are often overlooked. Individuals with ADHD may face societal bias challenges, and the aesthetic design features of therapeutic interventions may influence patient adherence.

Summary: Efficient information processing is crucial for cognition, and disruptions in it may be seen in neurodevelopmental conditions. This study explores the cognitive and behavioral implications of aperiodic exponent in EEG power spectrum, indicating disrupted neural communication, in adolescents with and without ADHD. The findings suggest that aperiodic exponents are related to reaction time variability and drift rate parameter, supporting its role as a neural correlate of disrupted information processing.

Summary: In this study, the researchers designed and developed a new unguided computerized cognitive behavioral therapy (cCBT)-based multicomponent intervention called TreadWill and evaluated its effectiveness. The results showed that users who completed at least half of the modules in TreadWill showed significant reduction in depression-related and anxiety-related symptoms. This study provides new evidence for the use of unguided cCBT as a scalable intervention in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Summary: This study re-examined the treatment effects of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and supportive psychotherapy (SPT) on body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). The findings suggest that CBT primarily targets unhelpful thoughts and BDD rituals, while SPT directly improves BDD-related insight. The time course of differences aligns with the intended targets of CBT, with cognitive effects emerging first and behavioral effects following.

Summary: This study reviewed the benefits and harms of digital cognitive-behavioral therapy (dCBT) for adolescents and explored barriers and facilitators to its implementation. The results suggest that dCBT programs may be slightly more effective in reducing depressive symptoms than other interventions in the short term, but the long-term effects are uncertain. Safety concerns and challenges in implementing dCBT were also highlighted.

Summary: This article synthesizes and critically evaluates the scientific literature on psychosexual functioning of individuals with neurodiversity, specifically focusing on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The studies reviewed suggest poorer psychosexual functioning for individuals with ASD or ADHD compared to neurotypical peers, with more pronounced effects observed in females. Future research is needed to clarify the mechanisms behind these adverse outcomes and identify interventions that can improve psychosexual functioning.
