Summary: Risk-taking poses a serious threat to the well-being of adolescents, and the family plays a significant role in protecting them from engaging in risky behaviors. This study found a significant correlation between overall healthy family functioning and adolescents' risky behaviors, with decision-making styles mediating this association.

Summary: This study focuses on a Bayesian binary decision-making problem in star networks, revealing the surprising result that incorrect beliefs could lead to a smaller risk for the fusion agent. Additionally, it is found that the optimal risk of the fusion agent converges to zero exponentially fast as the number of local agents grows.

Summary: The review examined the association between neurocognitive variables and adolescent suicidal behaviors, revealing that adolescents with a history of suicidal behaviors show differences in cognitive control and decision-making domains. However, due to lack of replication and conflicting findings, firm conclusions cannot be drawn regarding the contribution of altered decision-making or poor cognitive control to adolescent suicide. Further research is warranted to explore this area and identify potential therapeutic targets and predictive markers for early intervention in at-risk youth.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the level of shared decision making (SDM) experience in daily practice and its association with medication adherence. The results showed that there is room for improvement in SDM experience and medication adherence among patients. However, no significant association was found between SDM and medication adherence. Factors related to feeling of competence, relatedness, and feeling of autonomy did not meaningfully explain this finding.

Summary: This paper models and tests how doctors should adapt their medical treatment decisions to accommodate patient non-adherence. The results show that doctors adapt to non-adherence as they learn about the probability of non-adherence in patients.

Summary: Research in the past decade has highlighted the nuances of adolescent decision-making and behavior, showing similarities and differences compared to adults. Characteristics of adolescence, such as impulsivity and seeking novelty, are deemed normative and evolutionarily advantageous. Future research should focus on exploring potential avenues for understanding and supporting adolescent development.

Summary: The study found that collaborative decision-making between caregivers and adolescents, as well as parental involvement in asthma care decisions, were associated with better response to asthma exacerbations. A significant portion of families are not discussing their adolescent's asthma, indicating a need for future research to identify families at risk for reduced communication. Health professionals should assess both caregiver and adolescent decision-making involvement when addressing asthma self-management.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the relationship between FeNO and therapeutic adherence in asthmatic children. The results showed that FeNO < 20 ppb was independently associated with adequate therapeutic adherence. This suggests that FeNO values can be used to identify pediatric patients with asthma who have proper adherence to inhaled steroids.

Summary: Increasing evidence suggests that climate change poses direct and indirect threats to national and human security. While the U.S. Department of Defense recognizes climate change as a security threat, actual integration of climate security threats into planning and decision-making remains selective. Improving the production and use of climate security knowledge is crucial for safeguarding human and national security in a changing climate.

Summary: In this paper, the relationship between the text and numerical information of reviews was explored to understand consumers' decision-making process affected by reviews. The study confirmed that consumers consider reviews differently depending on product presentation conditions. When comparing products, star ratings have a stronger influence, whereas comments have a stronger influence when evaluating individual products. Additionally, consumers planning to buy a product have stricter criteria for examining star ratings compared to those who have already made a purchase.
