Summary: The study aimed to confirm or refute previous DDI signals, indicating a potential association between clopidogrel and eszopiclone or zolpidem with serious bleeding. However, due to statistical imprecision, a clear conclusion could not be drawn. Further examination is needed for the associations of other hypnotics with serious bleeding.

Summary: Pyronaridine triphosphate has demonstrated efficacy in inhibiting SARS-CoV-2 infection and reducing lung inflammation in both cellular and animal models. It can be combined with current COVID-19 treatments to further inhibit viral infections. Pyronaridine represents a promising therapeutic option for COVID-19 and future coronavirus outbreaks.

Summary: Traditional methods to standardize exposures in pharmacoepidemiologic studies may be insufficient for capturing drug class effects, especially when dealing with multiple medications, formulations, and administration routes. This study introduced a dose conversion method using an example study on antipsychotic use among older adults with dementia, demonstrating its feasibility for quantifying and presenting drug exposures in complex medication classes.

Summary: Direct-Acting Antiviral Agents (DAAs) have the potential to be an effective and safe treatment option for women with hepatitis C. However, limited pharmacokinetic and safety data currently prevents their use during pregnancy. Available studies have shown no significant changes in pharmacokinetics and no major safety concerns in women with hepatitis C, suggesting that DAAs could become a preferred option for treating HCV during pregnancy and eliminating perinatal transmission.

Summary: From 2008 to 2018, global consumption of Lipid-modifying agents, particularly statins, has increased. While the relationship between LMA consumption and cholesterol concentrations remains unclear, the trends in LMA use globally align with international lipid guidelines and show an increase in consumption of low-density lipoprotein lowering therapies. Country-level patterns of LMA use and total and non-HDL cholesterol varied considerably.

Summary: This case report describes a 45-year-old male patient with Adult Still's Disease and pulmonary involvement. The patient presented with continuous fever, failure to respond to antibiotics, skin rashes, musculoskeletal syndrome, and pharyngitis. Lung examination revealed bronchopulmonary lymphadenopathy, interstitial changes, and dense foci, while laboratory tests showed neutrophilic leukocytosis, elevated ALT, AST, and inflammatory markers. Treatment with methylprednisolone and methotrexate led to the complete regression of symptoms and normalization of laboratory tests, as well as partial regression of the lung findings on CT scan.

The analysis found that many publications did not report the preanalytical parameters of urine samples, despite the importance of standardization. Urine is being used for various cancer types and contains different analytes. Standard practice protocols and further research are needed to enhance the clinical utility of urine in cancer research and detection.

Summary: This cross-sectional study examined the microbial landscape and antibiotic resistance patterns in patients with bacterial pneumonia, specifically investigating the impact of COVID-19. Sputum samples from individuals with bacterial pneumonia, including COVID-19 positive and negative patients, were analyzed. The study found a low isolation rate of Streptococcus pneumoniae, a classic cause of bacterial pneumonia, in the sputum samples, and a higher frequency of multidrug-resistant pathogens in non-COVID-19 patients, suggesting the potential influence of the pandemic on antimicrobial resistance.
