Phenalinolactones A-D, terpenoglycoside antibiotics from Streptomyces sp Tu 6071

Four new terpenoglycoside antibiotics, phenalinolactones A-D were isolated from Streptomyces sp. Tu 6071. The structures were elucidated on the basis of detailed NMR and MS analyses. Phenalinolactones combine a diterpenoid tricycle, a 2,3,6-trideoxysugar a pyrrole-carboxylic acid and an uncommonly oxidized unsaturated gamma-lactone in a unique manner.
