Summary: This study used 2019 nationally representative cross-sectional survey data to assess the nationwide utilization of CT colonography (CTC) and predictors of CTC utilization. The results showed that the utilization of CTC remains low nationwide and that Black and Hispanic participants were more likely to undergo CTC. Promoting CTC may help reduce racial and ethnic disparities in colorectal cancer screening.

Summary: A nationally representative cross-sectional survey was conducted to explore the reasons and predictors of mammography utilization among women aged 40-49 years. The survey revealed that 46.6% of women had a screening mammogram in the past year, and 61.4% had one in the past two years. The most common reasons for not undergoing screening included lack of awareness, procrastination, perceived lack of need, no doctor's recommendation, and feeling too young. Lack of health insurance was found to be the strongest predictor of mammography non-engagement.

Summary: Despite the limited available data, there is strong interest in complementary and integrative medicine (IM) among gynecologists in Germany. Many gynecologists reported implementing IM concepts in their routine clinical work, particularly in gynecological oncology, with fatigue, nausea, climacteric symptoms, and sleep disturbances being the main indications for IM therapies. Gynecologists offering IM were more likely to be female, have qualifications in anthroposophic medicine or naturopathy, and be based in large cities.

Summary: Federal health surveys, such as the NHIS, serve as important surveillance mechanisms for monitoring the health and healthcare of the US population. The NHIS uses a complex sample of housing units to collect representative data. The 2019 questionnaire redesign aimed to reduce respondent burden, increase participation, and focus on relevant topics. The redesign resulted in improved response rates, decreased burden, and increased data quality and relevance.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the association between gait and/or balance disturbances and the onset of Alzheimer's dementia (AD) among older adults with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The findings suggest that the presence or severity of gait and/or balance disturbances is associated with an increased risk of AD, regardless of sex. Based on these results, nurses should frequently assess gait and/or balance disturbances among community-dwelling older adults with amnestic MCI to identify potential risk factors for cognitive decline.
