Summary: This study investigates the relationship between bilirubin and allergic rhinitis and identifies candidate urinary protein biomarkers associated with allergic rhinitis. The results show that bilirubin levels are associated with allergic rhinitis, and urine proteomics has value in exploring the pathophysiological mechanism of bilirubin changes and screening potential biomarkers for allergic rhinitis.

Summary: The coinfection rate of HBV in HIV patients increases as HIV disease progresses, possibly due to the reduced numbers of HBV-specific IFN-gamma-producing CD8+ T cells. Close monitoring of HBV serum markers from the early stage of HIV infection is necessary.

Summary: Self-administered acupressure as a self-care technique shows potential benefits for patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis, improving disease-specific quality of life and reducing disease-related symptoms and medication intake. High-quality confirmatory studies are needed for further validation of these findings, including a sham-control group.

Summary: This systematic review examined the efficacy and safety of intramuscular corticosteroid injections in seasonal allergic rhinitis. The results showed a significant difference in efficacy in favor of IMCIs compared to placebo in all four placebo-controlled, randomized controlled trials. However, there was no difference in the occurrence of side-effects between IMCIs, placebo, or oral corticosteroids.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the changes in serum levels of HIF-1 alpha and its dependent erythropoietin (EPO) among patients with allergic rhinitis (AR). The results showed that patients had lower levels of IFN-gamma and HIF-1 alpha, and a higher IL-4/IFN-gamma ratio compared to the healthy control group. These findings provide evidence for the pathogenic role of HIF-1 alpha and IFN-gamma in AR, which warrants future larger and longitudinal studies.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the preventative efficacy of omalizumab for seasonal allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (SARC) and explore its influencing factors. The retrospective analysis of patients' medical records found that pre-seasonal omalizumab treatment could significantly alleviate SARC-related symptoms and reduce medication use. The dosage and number of injections of omalizumab did not affect the preventative efficacy, with a single dose of 150mg achieving satisfactory outcomes.

Summary: This study found that low FEV1 value, high Asthma Control Questionnaire score, and elevated levels of RGP-sp IgE concentration, eosinophil counts, and fractional exhaled nitric oxide were associated with the risk of thunderstorm asthma among individuals with seasonal allergic rhinitis.
