Summary: With the dramatic situation unfolding in Ethiopia, it is the children and adolescents who are most affected, contributing to the largest humanitarian crisis in decades. The country's political instability and climate change have increased the risks of insecurity, displacement, and lack of protection. Children are forced to work on the streets, facing constant threats of sexual abuse and violence. Moreover, girls are particularly vulnerable to harmful traditions like female genital mutilation and child marriage. Adequate interventions and urgent humanitarian assistance are needed to address the needs of the more than 15 million children affected by this crisis.

Summary: An increasing amount of research argues for the reform of problematic emotions such as anxiety, anger, and shame in order to harness their contributions to agency and wellbeing. However, feminist philosophers are concerned that correcting these inappropriate emotions may further marginalize women and other oppressed groups. This paper draws on cognitive science research to argue that the current proposals for remedying these concerns are inadequate, and proposes an alternative strategy for reshaping problematic emotion norms that is sensitive to feminist concerns.

Summary: Estimates suggest that two children have died each week at Al Hol camp in northeast Syria so far in 2021. Over 90% of the children, who face severe restrictions on their freedoms and human rights violations, are under the age of 12. They lack access to clean water and adequate food, and recent incidents of violence and fears of a widespread COVID-19 outbreak further contribute to their suffering. The global debate revolves around the impact of these conditions on children's well-being, particularly regarding reports of sexual violence and exploitation.

Summary: This retrospective study aimed to investigate differences in victimization of minors after allegations of domestic violence and community violence. The results showed that adolescents were more likely to sustain injuries than younger children. Upper limb injuries may be a useful screening tool for domestic violence in school-age children and adolescents, while trunk injuries may indicate domestic violence in preschool children.

Summary: In Afghanistan, poor mental health is prevalent due to widespread poverty, social inequality, and ongoing violence. A significant percentage of the population in need of humanitarian assistance are children, many of whom have been exposed to psychological distress. The lack of social support leads to suffering among children and adolescents, and the quality of their environment plays a crucial role in their well-being and development.
