Summary: This study translated and described the reliability and validity of the diagnostic tool K-SADS-PL-C DSM-5 for children with mental disorders and schizophrenia in China. The results showed that this tool had high interrater and test-retest reliability, as well as good convergent and divergent validity.

Summary: This study evaluated the psychometric properties of the Traumatic Grief Inventory-Clinician Administered (TGI-CA), a new interview measure for assessing Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD) based on DSM-5-TR and ICD-11 criteria. The results showed that the TGI-CA has good internal consistency, test-retest reliability, and validity, but further research with larger and more diverse samples is needed to confirm its psychometric properties.

Summary: The current study investigated the continuity between criterion-based and trait-based models of Personality Disorders (PDs) and examined the convergence between DSM-5 Section II and Section III PDs in an Iranian community sample. The findings revealed that the factorial structure of PID-5 was consistent with theoretical expectations and supported the use of hypothesized traits to predict PD counterparts. However, several non-hypothesized facets also showed significant correlations with PD counterparts.

Summary: The development of DSM-5 involved the establishment of two review committees, including the CPHC which focused on reviewing proposals related to clinical and public health aspects. External review processes were deemed essential for future DSM efforts, highlighting the importance of separate committees to assess scientific merit and clinical/public health impact.

Summary: This paper reviews the impact of DSM-III and its successors on the field of autism, discussing both clinical work and research. It summarizes the events leading to the inclusion of autism in DSM-III, subsequent revisions, and the official recognition of autism on research. The paper also explores the categorical vs. dimensional approaches and tensions around broad vs. narrow views of autism, as well as areas of current controversy and future directions.

Summary: The study aimed to explore the scalar invariance of the dimensional Alternative Model of Personality Disorders across cultures by administering the PID-5 to samples from Belgium, Catalonia, France, Spain, and Switzerland. The results supported the configural and metric invariance, allowing for cross-cultural mean comparisons.

Summary: The prevalence of Internet gaming disorder among Chinese adolescents aged 12-19 was 4.6%. The study suggests that specific diagnostic criteria such as giving up other activities, experiencing negative consequences, and continuing to play despite problems contribute most to the diagnosis of IGD based on the DSM-5 criteria. There is evidence to support the retention or deletion of certain diagnostic criteria by the DSM framework in the future.

Summary: This study compared two methods, the Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS) and DSM-5 Mixed Features Specifier Interview (DMSI), for assessing mixed features in depressed patients. The agreement between the two methods was found to be poor, and the algorithm used in YMRS had a significant impact on the prevalence of mixed features.

Summary: The DSM-5 redefined the criteria for diagnosing hypomanic/manic episodes, adding increased energy/activity to the previous mood change criterion. Research indicates that this change may lead to a decrease of at least one third in the prevalence of manic/hypomanic episodes, but its impact on clinical practice and research requires further evaluation.
