Summary: The advent of electric lighting has greatly changed human perception of light and darkness, but it often fails to stimulate and synchronize the circadian system. This can lead to poor sleep and may contribute to the increased incidence of cardiovascular diseases. This contribution suggests incorporating daily exposures to light and darkness as lifestyle factors to reduce the risk and progression of cardiovascular diseases.

Summary: This study explored the equivalence of time reallocations and children's health outcomes, finding that certain changes in time use were associated with equivalent changes in health outcomes. It was discovered that moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) was 2 to 6 times more potent on a minute-for-minute basis compared to sleep or sedentary time.

Summary: Schizophrenia patients are at increased risk of lifestyle diseases due to poor eating habits, lack of physical activity, and nicotine use. This study found significant correlations between patients' lifestyle choices, biochemical parameters, and the severity of schizophrenia symptoms. Educational interventions on physical activity and healthy eating habits could lead to improved mental and physical health outcomes for schizophrenia patients.

Summary: This focused review introduces the ubiquity of dominance across the animal kingdom and the modern approach of measuring dominance using Percolation and Conductance (Perc). Perc takes into account the nonlinear hierarchical structure and provides a complementary metric of 'dominance certainty' to assess the degree of ambiguity in rank relationships. The review summarizes studies on the importance of 'dominance certainty' in large captive rhesus macaque breeding groups and concludes with suggestions for future research directions in dominance hierarchy.

Summary: This study found that the predictive validity of SSDO is almost as high as SDO6, but the internal reliability is lower. The research also suggests that individuals with lower levels of social dominance orientation tend to exhibit lower levels of speciesism and higher levels of empathic concern.
