Summary: This study identified three fungal strains pathogenic to aphids and whiteflies in Argentina as Lecanicillium uredinophilum, representing the first documentation of this fungus in hemipteran insects and outside of Southeast Asia, particularly in the Americas. Through a combination of morphological and molecular taxonomy analyses, it was proposed that the entire species L. uredinophilum should be reclassified into the genus Akanthomyces, leading to the introduction of a new taxon, Akanthomaces uredinophilus comb. nov.

Summary: In this study, a novel bacterial strain isolated from a forest soil sample in Gejiu City, Yunnan Province, Southwest China was identified as a new member of the genus Propioniciclava and named Propioniciclava soli sp. nov. Additionally, the reclassification of another bacterial genus, Brevilactibacter, was proposed based on polyphasic taxonomic evidence.

Summary: Polyalthia debilis, a widespread species in Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam, has been recircumscribed based on morphological appraisal. Three heterotypic synonyms of Polyalthia debilis have been identified and recognized as separate species. New combinations and a key to distinguish these species have been provided.

Summary: We present polyphasic taxonomic data to identify a novel species within the genus Pseudoclavibacter, strain 125703-2019(T), and reclassify Zimmermannella alba as Pseudoclavibacter albus comb. nov. The strain could not be reliably identified using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, but 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis confirmed its placement in the Pseudoclavibacter genus. Further analysis confirmed it as a novel species. Detailed physiological characterization and genotypic analysis revealed differences between the novel species and related taxa. We also propose reclassifying Pseudoclavibacter soli and Pseudoclavibacter caeni into the novel genus Caespitibacter gen. nov. as Caespitibacter soli comb. nov. and Caespitibacter caeni comb. nov. respectively.

Summary: Using genome-based analysis, three monophyletic clusters were identified within the genus Acidovorax, which were not reflected in the 16S rRNA gene-based phylogenetic tree. Digital DNA-DNA hybridization and nucleotide identity values further confirmed the species arrangements within the genus. Additionally, Acidovorax antarcticus was found to be more closely related to members of the genus Comamonas. Therefore, it is proposed to divide the current genus Acidovorax into the emended genus Acidovorax and two novel genera, Paracidovorax gen. nov. and Paenacidovorax gen. nov., and transfer Acidovorax antarcticus to the genus Comamonas as Comamonas antarctica comb. nov.

Summary: This study used DNA sequences and morphological observations to confirm that Cystoclonium obtusangulum actually consists of two distinct species, leading to the proposal of a new genus name Meridionella. These two species are morphologically similar but have different distributions, one found in South America and the Falkland Islands, and the other occurring in Antarctic waters.

Summary: In this study, the taxonomic relationships of 155 type strains within the family Rhizobiaceae were reviewed using genome-based phylogeny and phylogenomic metrics. The analysis revealed the need to assign eight novel genera and recombine 22 species. A novel strain BDR2-2(T) belonging to a novel genus of the family Rhizobiaceae was also confirmed, and named Ectorhizobium quercum gen. nov., sp. nov.

Summary: The species originally described as Acaulospora polonica actually represents a new genus and a new family of the ancient order Archaeosporales, introduced as Polonospora and Polonosporaceae respectively, within the phylum Glomeromycota. Several morphologically undescribed taxa at the ranks of genus and species are still present within Polonosporaceae with P. polonica comb. nov., having a worldwide distribution.

Summary: A new genus of ant-like flower beetle, Furcanthicus, is described, along with three new species. The unique morphological characters differentiate this new genus from Anthicus. There are photographs of the habitat of some species from the new genus to enhance understanding of their lifestyle. An identification key is provided for all species in the new genus. The article also briefly discusses the important morphological characters, distribution, and diagnosis of the new genus.

Summary: Viet Nam has a diverse coastline and islands that provide habitats for harmful algal species, including ciguatera toxin-producing species of Gambierdiscus, which pose threats to public health. This study identifies five Gambierdiscus species from Vietnamese waters, including a new species, using morphological and molecular analyses. Additionally, it suggests the inclusion of certain strains from Hainan Island in China into the new species.
