Summary: A novel bacterial strain RMG13T was isolated from soil in Siheung-si, Republic of Korea. Through polyphasic analysis, it was determined that RMG13T belongs to the genus Pseudarthrobacter and is most closely related to Pseudarthrobacter sulfonivorans ALLT and Pseudarthrobacter psychrotolerans YJ56T. RMG13T exhibits unique phenotypic, genotypic, and chemotaxonomic characteristics, leading to its proposed classification as Pseudarthrobacter humi sp. nov.

Summary: A novel Gram-staining-positive, heterotrophic, non-spore-forming, non-motile, rod-shaped strain ZS14-85(T) belonging to the genus Cryobacterium was isolated from soil in Antarctica. It showed growth in 0-2% (w/v) NaCl, at pH 7.0-9.0 (optimum at pH 7.0) and 4-30 celcius (optimum at 20 celcius). Phylogenetic analysis revealed its lineage in the genus Cryobacterium. The proposed species Cryobacterium zhongshanensis sp. nov. had distinct characteristics based on phenotypic, phylogenetic and genotypic data.

Summary: A new species of actinomycete, Micromonospora thermarum, was isolated from hot spring sediment in Ranong province, Thailand. The strain showed taxonomic characteristics consistent with members of the genus Micromonospora. The strain produced a single spore directly on the substrate mycelium and had unique physiological and biochemical characteristics compared to closely related strains.

Summary: A novel actinobacterium, named HIs16- 36(T), was isolated from the rhizosphere of a mangrove on Ishigaki Island, Okinawa, Japan. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that HIs16- 36(T) was closely related to the genus Arthrobacter. However, differences in phenotypic characteristics and genetic analysis indicate that HIs16- 36T should be distinguished as a novel species of the genus Arthrobacter, named Arthrobacter mangrovi.
