Summary: This study introduced a method of fabricating an individualized abutment-crown integrated provisional restoration for single-tooth implant restoration in the esthetic zone. By utilizing digital design and computer-aided manufacturing, it helps shape the soft tissue morphology around the implant and shows promising aesthetic results.

Summary: The study investigated a state-of-the-art algorithm for 3D reconstruction, specifically for individualized implant restorations. By comparing 3D mirror images of crowns and emergence profiles between symmetric tooth pairs, high pair matching accuracy and sensitivity were achieved. The digitally flipped contours of crown and emergence profiles proved successful for implant reconstruction in the maxillary anterior region to optimize esthetics and function.

Summary: The study evaluated the peri-implant tissue changes and esthetic outcomes of cemented and screw-retained crowns of single-tooth implants in the esthetic zone using zirconia abutments. The results showed that the connection system had no influence on peri-implant parameters and esthetics evaluation for medium-term periods (3 and 4 years).

Summary: PEEK has become a widely used polymeric biomaterial in dentistry, particularly in prosthetic dentistry and dental implantology. However, there is limited research on PEEK as a long-term provisional implant restoration. PEEK shows promising applications in clinical dentistry and can be modified to enhance its properties for various implant components.

Summary: The prosthetic emergence profile angle does not seem to have a direct impact on peri-implant soft tissue health. Therefore, providing a proper emergence profile angle is crucial for implant-supported restorations in the anterior areas.

Summary: Dental implant provisional restorations play a vital role in successful implant treatment. The advent of CAD/CAM technology has revolutionized the field by providing improved precision and more predictable treatment outcomes. This study comprehensively assessed the biocompatibility, gingival tissue attachment, and biofilm formation of provisional implant restorations using CAD/CAM technology compared to conventional methods. The results showed that CAD/CAM-fabricated provisional implant restorations using a milling technique may be the most favorable in terms of biocompatibility and periodontal-related biofilm formation.

Summary: Cement-retained restorations on implants offer better passive fit and aesthetics, but excess cement can lead to biological complications such as peri-implant tissue inflammation and periimplantitis. Careful cementation methods and materials can help prevent these cement-related peri-implant diseases.

Summary: Using a rat soft tissue model, the researchers found that magnesium (Mg) implants exacerbated initial inflammation but also initiated chemotaxis and upregulated immunomodulatory markers, leading to tissue repair. The understanding of the relationship between Mg material properties and cellular processes provides a basis for interpretation of clinical observations and future improvements in Mg implants.

Summary: Stable soft tissue integration is crucial for long-term implant stability, preventing peri-implantitis, and protecting underlying bone tissue. Zirconia abutments are preferred over titanium for aesthetic restoration, but achieving soft tissue attachment remains challenging. This review discusses advances in zirconia surface treatment and structural design that can enhance soft tissue integration.

Summary: This study analyzed the efficacy of soft tissue augmentation procedures aimed at modifying the peri-implant soft tissue phenotype and their impact on peri-implant health. Results showed that using bilaminar techniques combined with soft tissue grafts resulted in a significant increase in mucosal thickness, while apically positioned flap techniques combined with free gingival grafts showed a significant increase in keratinized mucosa width.
