Summary: SARS-CoV-2 utilizes its S protein to rapidly enter cells, sliding quickly with the flat sialic acid-binding domain in the N-terminal domain interacting with the epithelial layer, and entering via the ACE-2 receptor. The binding between viral RBD and ACE-2 may be optimal, and protein enzymes can accelerate cell entry by SARS-CoV-2.

Summary: The study confirmed the viability and functionality of cryopreserved thyroid autotransplantation in treating postoperative hypothyroidism in rats. Transplanted animals showed normal thyroid hormone levels and graft isotopic uptake, with evidence of cell proliferation and no cellular apoptosis. This surgical strategy was effective in treatment.

Summary: This study tracked the emergence of mutations in SARS-CoV-2 proteins globally and in six model countries, revealing that since October 2020, frequent mutations have been observed mainly in ORF7b and ORF8. Interestingly, no high-frequency mutations were found in the UK, India, and Brazil, which does not correlate with the virus's transmission in these countries.

Summary: The current COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 shares similar pathology with MERS and SARS-CoV, with unique ORF10 protein variants identified. Analysis on these variants is necessary to understand their potential correlation with the pathogenesis of the disease.

Summary: The European Medicines Agency has approved four different types of COVID-19 vaccines, which play an important role in preventing COVID-19. However, in some individuals, adverse reactions such as thrombosis with associated thrombocytopenia may occur. These events may be related to interactions between viral proteins and receptors, viral vector interactions with antibodies, and individual immune mechanisms, especially requiring validation in risk groups.

Summary: COVID-19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2, which has a fatality rate below 1%. Accessory proteins of SARS-CoV-2, including ORF3a, ORF6, ORF7a, ORF7b, ORF8, and ORF10, have potential functions in manipulating host immune mechanisms and are crucial in COVID-19 pathology. Variations in these accessory proteins have been observed across different continents, with ORF3a showing the highest level of unique variations.

Summary: Accessory protein ORF8 in SARS-CoV-2 shows high variability and can inhibit antigen presentation, aiding the virus in evading immunity and replicating. The Q27STOP mutation defines a new lineage and contributes to the second wave of COVID-19. Multiple ORF8 protein variants were identified, with 9 possible unique variants showing significant features.
