Summary: Ultrafiltration membranes derived from block copolymers with tunable pore structures and intrinsic surface functions are prepared by a simple spray-coating method. The addition of water as a pore-forming agent leads to phase separation during spray coating, resulting in the formation of nanoscale pores in the composite membranes. The membranes exhibit good ultrafiltration performance and intrinsic fouling resistance, making them comparable or better than those prepared by more complicated processes.

Summary: h-BN nanosheets were used to enhance the mechanical and thermal properties of alpha-Si3N4/O'-Sialon coating and improve its softening and toughening effects. The mechanisms of BNNSs improved the damage tolerance and toughness of the coating. The ultra-high thermal conductivity of BNNSs significantly improved the thermal diffusivity and conductivity of the coating, enhancing its thermal shock resistance.

Summary: Porous microneedles (pMNs) are a novel transdermal drug delivery modality that can carry drugs and vaccines and exert a synergistic effect through the release of drugs and adjuvants in the skin. In this study, biocompatible pMNs with good mechanical properties and high porosity were successfully prepared. The coated pMNs induced an efficient immune response in rats. This research suggests that pMNs have a promising prospect for future applications in preventing global epidemics like influenza.

Summary: The study introduced a class of materials known as metal organic frameworks (MOF) for energy storage applications, showing exceptional properties and synthesized via a hydrothermal route in three steps. The synthesized material exhibited outstanding performance in electrochemical characterization, leading to the formation of a supercapattery with remarkable energy density and power density. The supercapattery also demonstrated exceptional stability through cyclic charge discharge, maintaining its capacity even after 1000 consecutive cycles.

Summary: The method used for membrane preparation and nanoparticle incorporation can impact the properties of the membranes. This study compared the use of Evaporation/Non-solvent Induced Phase Separation (EIPS/NIPS) and dip coating methods to obtain membranes containing PBAT and nanoclay. The EIPS/NIPS membranes showed smaller pores, more homogeneous pore diameter distribution, better mechanical properties, and lower production cost compared to the dip coating membranes. EIPS/NIPS method is economically and statistically advantageous, and holds potential for applications in removing pollutants from aqueous media.

Summary: The peculiarities of hydrogenation in the single-phase TiZrVNbTa equiatomic high-entropy alloy were revealed using a combination of microcalorimetric hydrogen titration technique and conventional volumetric measurements. The alloy was produced as microfibers using the pendent drop melt extraction technique and Palladium coating was applied to enable first hydrogenation at room temperature without additional activation. The analysis of the obtained data allowed for evaluation of the dependence of hydrogenation enthalpy on the hydrogen concentration in the alloy, identifying three concentration ranges corresponding to the formation of hydrogen solid solution, monohydride, and dihydride phases with determined ?H values of about -100, -80, and -60 kJ/mol H-2, respectively.
