Summary: This study revealed that progestins present in aquatic environment can cause adverse effects in clams, as shown by the accumulation of progestin, histological changes in the digestive gland, and altered gene expression and metabolism. These findings provide insights into the toxicity mechanisms of progestin interference in aquatic invertebrates.

Summary: This study aimed to improve the efficacy of hormonal therapy in advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer by analyzing hormone receptor expressions and pathway activity. Results showed that using a 50% cutoff level for hormone receptor expression significantly enhanced the prediction of response to hormonal treatment.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the quantity and quality of race/ethnicity reporting in the literature on endometrial cancer published from January 2020 to December 2020. A systematic review of 3330 articles found that only 166 (17.5%) of the included articles reported the race/ethnicity of patients, with low quality of reporting.

Summary: Breast cancer is a commonly diagnosed cancer type, and overexpression of HER2 is an important subtype that increases the risk of recurrence and metastasis. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is currently used as the golden standard for detecting HER2 expression, but it has limitations. This paper proposes a combined morphological and spectroscopic diagnostic method based on label-free SERS for HER2 expression in breast cancer, which shows high consistency with IHC and has potential for clinical detection and diagnosis.

Summary: While there are no significant differences in clinical characteristics between endometrial cancer patients with and without adenomyosis, the main distinction lies in nulliparity status. This suggests that clinical features may not be the determining factor for the better prognosis seen in endometrial cancer patients with adenomyosis compared to those without.

Summary: This study found that serum HE4 levels can serve as predictive biomarkers for the intrauterine progestin response in patients with endometrial cancer and atypical endometrial hyperplasia. The results indicate that patients with higher serum HE4 levels have a poorer response to progestin treatment.

Summary: Evidence suggests that adenomyosis patients have increased angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis in both ectopic and eutopic endometrium. This finding indicates a potential link between adenomyosis and blood vessel and lymph vessel formation in the endometrium.

Summary: This case study highlights the importance of molecular testing for complex synchronous tumors and emphasizes the need for communication between surgical and medical oncologists in patients with MSI-high cancer. The common genetic lineage in the tumors and successful response to tailored immunotherapy suggest a molecular-based approach to treatment may lead to better understanding and outcomes.

Summary: Incidence and deaths of uterine endometrial cancer are increasing. Hormone therapy using progesterone and progestin is effective in the short term, but resistance and loss of progesterone receptor expression limit long-term effectiveness. Histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACi) can inhibit cell proliferation and restore functional progesterone receptor expression. Romidepsin, a potent HDACi, shows promise for future clinical trials.

Summary: The study aimed to measure inter-observer agreement and diagnostic performance of re-staging CTs in predicting tumor resectability and response in patients who received neoadjuvant therapy for pancreatic cancer. The results showed that CT can be reliably used in selecting candidates for surgery after neoadjuvant therapy, with high inter-observer agreement.

Summary: This study found that p53 is highly expressed in radioresistant prostate cancer cells and in prostate cancer patients with recurrence or disease progression after radiation therapy. Mechanistic analysis showed that radiation therapy can promote p53 expression through epigenetic modulation. Inhibition of KDM6B decreased p53 expression and attenuated the radioresistant phenotype of prostate cancer cells.
