Summary: Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is a genetic neuroectodermal disorder associated with various skin findings, including cutaneous neurofibromas. There are limited treatment options for the cutaneous manifestations of NF1, and interdisciplinary collaboration is often necessary for the appropriate care of these patients. Increased awareness of NF1 and its dermatologic associations is important for providing adequate care to patients.

Summary: While family work is important in treating eating disorders, there is lack of research on it during the transition from adolescence to young adulthood. This paper aims to explain a specific therapeutic environment to address this type of resistance. In the joint therapy sessions, family dynamics are addressed through discussions on treatment and feeding.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate biomolecules in naive patients with psoriasis (PSO), psoriatic arthritis (PSA) with PSO, and PSA sine PSO. The results showed that these patients have a similar cytokine profile, suggesting the concept of a psoriatic disease continuum. However, differences were also found, indicating possible pathogenic differences and contributing to the clinical heterogeneity of these patients.

Summary: This article discusses the pathological features of Alzheimer's disease and the important role of autophagy pathway in prevention and treatment. By regulating autophagy, it is possible to effectively reduce the formation of protein aggregates associated with Alzheimer's disease, making it a potential therapeutic approach.

Summary: Mental health and physical health issues often coexist, but the impact of psychological wellbeing on physical functioning is not well understood in medical spaces. Individuals with psychiatric diagnoses are at increased risk for chronic health issues, and healthcare systems that treat the mind and body separately may disadvantage them. Analysis of interviews revealed physical health challenges in individuals with psychiatric illness, highlighting the bidirectionality of mental and physical symptoms. Incorporating mental wellbeing and its impact on physical health into healthcare could improve patient experiences and satisfaction.

Summary: Unlike most medical fields, the progress in discovering and developing new psychiatric drugs has been slow and disappointing. The majority of currently prescribed drugs for schizophrenia, mood, and anxiety disorders are not significantly more effective than the first generation of drugs introduced over 50 years ago. This article highlights the reasons for this slow progress and discusses research areas that rely on recent advances in neuroscience in order to better understand the biology of these disorders. The potential impact of these research areas is exemplified through recent examples of novel agents that support optimism for the emergence of newer, more effective, and better tolerated psychiatric drugs in the near future. These agents, combined with existing drugs, could greatly improve the functional outcomes for the millions of people who are still disabled by psychiatric disorders.

Summary: This study compared the efficacy and safety of non-biological systemic agents, small molecules, and biologics for moderate-to-severe psoriasis using a network meta-analysis. The results showed that infliximab, bimekizumab, ixekizumab, and risankizumab were the most effective treatments for achieving PASI 90 in people with moderate-to-severe psoriasis.

Summary: Epidemiological studies have found a positive correlation between the severity of mental illness and the duration and severity of physical illness. Liaison consultations are valuable in identifying and treating psychiatric disorders, but the rate of psychiatric follow-up after consultation is low in outpatients. This study aimed to investigate the factors influencing post-discharge psychosomatic follow-up visits in patients undergoing psychiatric liaison consultation in general hospitals and construct a Nomogram prediction model for patients' post-discharge psychosomatic follow-up visits. The model accurately predicted post-discharge psychosomatic follow-up behavior and showed good validity for clinical application.

Summary: The interaction between the immunological and nervous system in the skin has a significant impact on patients with psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and hidradenitis suppurativa. Psychodermatological interventions can improve quality of life, disease flare-ups, and long-term management for these patients.

Summary: This study aimed to identify factors influencing menopause symptoms. The results showed that a family history of menopausal symptoms, age at menarche, number of pregnancies, history of postpartum mental illness, and other psychiatric disorders were positively associated with the severity of menopause symptoms. However, age and number of deliveries were negatively associated with the severity of menopause symptoms.

Summary: This study aimed to identify factors influencing menopause symptoms. The results found that a family history of menopausal symptoms, late menarcheal age, a higher number of pregnancies, history of postpartum depression, postpartum psychosis, and other psychiatric disorders were positively associated with more severe menopause symptoms. On the other hand, age and number of deliveries were negatively associated with the severity of menopausal symptoms.

Summary: Cosmetic procedures have been shown to have beneficial effects on physical appearance and patient-perceived self-image and quality of life. Recent studies indicate that there may be additional benefits from aesthetic interventions, particularly in improving perceptions related to age, attractiveness, sociability, relationship success, and occupational and financial competency. These findings could inform discussions with patients about the risks and benefits of cosmetic procedures.

Summary: This study identified a novel clinical phenotype called nasal papules, which are skin-colored dome-shaped papules concentrated on the nose and chin, potentially an under-recognized sequelae of acne disproportionately affecting adolescents with skin of color. Histopathologically, these lesions are indistinguishable from angiofibromas, indicating a need for further research and awareness of this condition.

Summary: Acne patients prescribed isotretinoin were less likely to have psychiatric disorders and engage in suicidal behavior compared to the general population and acne patients prescribed antibiotics. The prevalence of suicidal behavior was lower during isotretinoin treatment than before or after treatment, highlighting the need for further exploration into the increase in suicidal behavior seen in isotretinoin patients one year after therapy.

Summary: This study described three cases of solitary pedunculated lipofibromas occurring in older, obese adults that required clinicopathologic correlation for correct diagnosis. The histopathologic features of pedunculated lipofibromas include a broad-based lesion with aggregates of mature adipocytes extending upwards into the dermis, and distinguishing them from nevus lipomatosus superficialis can provide more accurate clinical diagnoses.
