Summary: This study presents and discusses the heterogeneous multitype fleet green automated guided vehicle (AGV) routing problem with time windows (HFGVRPTW) applied in the workshops of flexible manufacturing systems (FMS). The research focuses on optimizing transport distance and energy consumption by designing a hybrid genetic algorithm with large neighborhood search (GA-LNS) considering the farthest insertion heuristic. Computational experiments were conducted to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed model and algorithm, with results showing significant energy-saving potential in workshop intralogistics compared to traditional homogeneous fleet transportation mode.

Summary: Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) have gained popularity in intelligent manufacturing due to their flexibility, controllability, and convenience. This study examines the relationship between AGV scheduling tasks, charging thresholds, and power consumption in order to address the impact of AGV charging on the scheduling of flexible manufacturing units with multiple AGVs. A scheduling model is established to minimize the maximum completion time, and a genetic algorithm is used to solve the model and improve genetic diversity. The results demonstrate the effectiveness and viability of the scheduling model in optimizing AGV utilization and reducing charging times.

Summary: In order to minimize traveling time and energy consumption in a tandem AGV system, it is necessary to minimize waiting time of AGVs and containers at transfer points between adjacent zones. This requires cooperative multi-agent scheduling with coordination between agents. We propose a novel CMAS method based on Lagrange theory and compare it to a non-cooperative scheduling approach. Real-world experiments in a book printing process show that the CMAS method is effective.

Summary: This article develops a mathematical model using Coloured Petri nets (CPN) to investigate the performance of multi-load AGV systems in various scenarios. The research shows that the failure of multi-load AGVs can significantly lower the system performance, but a combination of periodic maintenance and backup AGV use can maintain high performance. Additionally, increasing the number of multi-load AGVs improves system performance but decreases the efficiency of individual AGVs.

Summary: The automated guided vehicle (AGV) is an advanced transport equipment widely used in flexible manufacturing systems to enhance productivity and automation. However, previous studies mainly focused on improving AGV's perception, navigation, and anti-collision capabilities, with insufficient attention to energy consumption reduction. This study proposes an energy benchmark for evaluating AGV path plans and establishes a dynamic rating system for energy efficiency. The results demonstrate a 10.98% reduction in transport energy consumption and analyze the effects of AGV path plans on machine tool energy consumption at workstations. Furthermore, the relationship between the energy efficiency of AGV path plans and workstation locations is explored.

Summary: In smart factories, AGVs communicate with CPSs to autonomously deliver materials among smart facilities. Factories use rule-based and model-based approaches to improve AGV utilization and production efficiency. However, these strategies require predefined rules or models, leading to computational costs and estimation errors. This work proposes a reinforcement learning approach to solve the real-time charging scheduling problem of AGVs, considering practical bounds for charging different AGVs.

Summary: Supplier selection is a significant problem in supply chain management, involving concurrent decision-making on key performance indicators based on multi-dimensional data. Recent studies have examined the supplier selection problem in various applied cases, with a focus on a range of criteria. This problem becomes more pronounced in industries with high levels of investment, such as the renewable energy sector. This article presents a new method that encompasses all relevant indices for effective supplier selection. The proposed algorithm utilizes decision tree (DT) indices to group criteria and sub-criteria, and uses a machine learning (RML) approach to handle uncertain data through rough comparisons and weighing. The method also includes a transformation (T) step to obtain crisp values and a ranking (R) of suppliers. A case study on renewable energy supplier selection demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method, particularly in handling big data through machine learning techniques. The article also discusses the managerial implications of this method as decision support.
