Synthesis and Magnetic Properties of Nanocrystalline Y1-xCdxFeO3-δ (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.2)

We report the synthesis of Y1-xCdxFeO3-delta nanocrystals in the range x = 0-0.2. The Y1-xCdxFeO3-delta materials were shown to be single-phase by X-ray diffraction, with an average crystallite size from 23 to 34 nm, depending on composition. With increasing cadmium oxide content, the size of the Y1-xCdxFeO3-delta nanocrystals decreases and their magnetization rises.
