Summary: Strong upconverted circularly polarized luminescence can be achieved from achiral core-shell upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) via plasmonic chiral metasurface-induced optical chirality transfer. In the UCNPs-on-metasurface composite, significant enhancement and circular polarization modulation of upconversion luminescence can be achieved, paving new pathways to potential applications in imaging, sensing, and anticounterfeiting fields.

Summary: This paper presents a new strategy for circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) organic light-emitting diodes (CP-OLEDs) by inducing achiral fluorophores through helical co-assembly between chiral polymers and an achiral fluorophore. The study demonstrates the achievement of a strong deep blue CPL signal in spin-coated films using this method.

Summary: In this study, achiral Cu clusters sensitive to oxygen were coassembled with a chiral amphiphile to form helical nanotubes. The Cu clusters were confined within the nanotubes and exhibited phosphorescence, as well as chiroptical activities such as circular dichroism and circularly polarized phosphorescence. This work provides a facile and universal protocol for designing chiroptical materials based on coinage metal clusters.

Summary: This study reports the first example of efficient near-infrared Circularly Polarized Luminescence (CPL) in water, achieved by combining a chiral Yb complex with PLGA nanoparticles. The chiral Yb complex exhibits good CPL in organic solvents, and the PLGA nanoparticles protect the metal ion while ensuring its stability and biocompatibility.

Summary: Chiral supramolecular assembly can regulate the helical nanofibers to achieve circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) behavior of pyrenyl emitters in achiral liquid crystal polymers. Interestingly, the chiral co-assembly (R/S-M)(0.1)-(P3)(0.9) emitted an inverted blue-colored CPL signal during thermal annealing treatment, which was due to the flexible main chain of the LC polymer (LC-P3).

Summary: Researchers have developed near ultraviolet circularly polarized luminescent materials with high photoluminescence quantum yields and good circular polarization dissymmetry factors, which can induce circularly polarized electroluminescence from blue to red for achiral materials. By using these materials as emitters, they achieve strong near ultraviolet circularly polarized electroluminescence with the best external quantum efficiencies (eta(ext)s) of 9.0% and small efficiency roll-offs in organic light-emitting diodes.

Summary: By using chiral deep eutectic solvents, non-chiral fluorescent molecules can emit circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) with handedness controlled by the molecular chirality of the solvent. This study reveals the important role of the interior structure and hydrogen bond network of chiral deep eutectic solvents in inducing CPL, and demonstrates the possibility of generating full-color and white CPL in such solvents.

Summary: A series of planar chiral macrocyclic compounds derived from [2.2]-paracyclophane scaffold and helicenes were synthesized and found to exhibit efficient circularly polarized emission. These compounds and helicenes were used as activators in peroxyoxalate chemiluminescence. Compound 2R, which contained electron-donating dimethylamino groups and had the lowest oxidation potential, showed the highest chemiluminescence quantum yield of 0.21% (higher than 0.17% for 9,10-diphenylanthracene at a concentration of 1.0 x 10-4 mol dm-3). Significant circularly polarized chemiluminescence with dissymmetry factors (|gCL|) ranging from 1.4 x 10-3 to 5.4 x 10-3 was observed for these chiral chemiluminescent activators.

Summary: By integrating achiral and chiral ligands into zero-dimensional hybrid metal halides (0D HMHs), a efficient strategy to achieve high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) and large dissymmetry factor (g(lum)) is proposed. The synthesized chiral 0D HMHs exhibit near-unity PLQY and large g(lum) values, expanding their applications in chiroptical fields.

Summary: Deep eutectic solvents (DES) prepared with a chiral component can lead to new chiral solvents with applications in asymmetric synthesis and chiral light emitting materials. The study found that the chirality of the chiral hydrogen bond donor plays a crucial role in chiral discrimination by the chiral solvent, while the achiral hydrogen bond acceptor also plays a critical role in determining the handedness of the chiral discrimination.

Summary: The study found that optically inactive, paramagnetic Ir(III)(ppy)(3) and Ir(III)(ppy)(2)(acac) showed nearly mirror-symmetric magnetic circularly polarised Luminescence (MCPL) spectra in dilute dichloromethane and dimethyl sulfoxide under N-up and S-up geometries in a 1.6-T magnetic field. However, the MCPL signs of Ir(III)(ppy)(3) and Ir(III)(ppy)(2)(acac) under the same N-up (or S-up) Faraday geometry were opposite to each other when one ppy was replaced with an acac. This ligand exchange approach provides facile control of the MCPL sign, irrespective of the Faraday geometry.

Summary: This study investigated the photophysical properties of Pd(0) complexes, revealing that four-coordinated Pd(0) complexes exhibit blue-yellow emission in the solid state, while three-coordinated Pd(0) complexes display yellow-orange emission. In solution, the three-coordinated complexes show orange emission and exhibit a thermally activated delayed fluorescence mechanism. Both complexes have metal-to-ligand charge-transfer character in their emitting states, but the emission of the tris complex is significantly influenced by a metal-centered d -> p transition.

The results suggest future opportunities in controlling the branching ratio of the dual intersystem crossing pathways through ligand structures.
