Summary: The research indicates that the absorption peaks of DNA-templated Ag nanoclusters are sensitive to the assembled distances and exhibit characteristics of plasmon coupling; TDDFT simulations suggest that the absorption originates from plasmons, and the consistent trend between experimental and simulation results implies the possibility of plasmon coupling. DNA-AgNCs have the potential to be promising materials for constructing plasmon-coupling devices with ultra-small size, site-specific and stoichiometric binding abilities, and biocompatibility.

Summary: The synthesis of sandwich-shaped multinuclear silver complexes with planar penta- and tetranuclear wheel-shaped silver units and a central anion is reported. By altering the central anion or adding/removing a silver atom, the size of the silver wheels can be adjusted. NMR mechanistic studies reveal the formation sequence of the silver complexes and provide insights into the dynamics of the self-assembly process.

Summary: New homochiral (AgRhIII)-Rh-I nanoclusters, Delta(6)/?(6)-[Ag11S{Rh(apt)(3)}(6)](9+) and Delta(6)/?(6)-[Ag13S{Rh(apt)(3)}(6)](11+) were successfully synthesized using different sulfide sources in water. The cluster cores of [1](9+) and [2](11+), protected by fac-[Rh(apt)(3)] metalloligands, consist of Ag11S and Ag13S, respectively. Photoluminescence switch from nonemissive [1](9+) to emissive [2](11+) was achieved by converting [1](9+) to [2](11+) through the reaction with Ag+.

Summary: In this study, two novel Ag(I)-tazobactam frameworks were prepared by mechanochemistry, which showed enhanced antimicrobial activity compared to tazobactam alone. Among the tested microorganisms, Pseudomonas aeruginosa was the most sensitive to tazobactam and the new compounds. These findings reveal new applications of tazobactam as a multifunctional linker in the design of antibiotic coordination frameworks and related materials.

Summary: This study investigates the self-assembly of 4,4'-biphenyl-dicarboxylic acid (BDA) on Ag(111) and Ag(100) surfaces using various techniques. The results show that while the intact and fully deprotonated BDA have similar structures on both surfaces, the partially deprotonated BDA exhibits differences in structure and chemical composition. Real-time observation of the phase transformations provides a generalized understanding of the self-assembled molecular phases on the surfaces, emphasizing the importance of phase stabilization and burst transformation mechanisms. The influence of substrate orientation on the structure of molecular layers and phase transformations provides valuable insights for developing functionalization strategies and kinetic models.

Summary: Homoleptic [L-I-L](+) iodine(I) complexes were synthesized via the [L-Ag-L](+)-> [L-I-L](+) cation exchange reaction. In solution, the amines form [R3R2R1N-Ag-NR1R2R3](+) silver(I) complexes, which crystallize out as the meso-[L-Ag-L](+) complexes. Density functional theory calculations showed different interaction energies for Ag+-N and I+-N in silver(I) and iodine(I) complexes. X-ray crystal structures revealed unique short contacts between the silver(I) cation and flexible N-alkyl/N-aryl groups.

Summary: In this study, large-scale self-assembly of atomically precise organometallic supramolecules was achieved through cascaded on-surface chemical reactions and intermolecular interactions. Supramolecules with defined size and shape were built through intramolecular reactions and intermolecular metal coordination, followed by the formation of ordered two-dimensional arrays with the assistance of Br atoms. The mechanism of this process was investigated from the perspectives of thermodynamics and kinetics.

Summary: This study demonstrates the self-organization of atomically precise organometallic supramolecules through cascaded on-surface chemical reactions. The combination of intra- and inter-supramolecular interactions allows for the construction of supramolecules with defined size and shape. With the assistance of C-H···Br interactions, well-ordered two-dimensional arrays can be formed. This research is important for understanding and exploring the mechanism of self-assembled supramolecules.

Summary: A new ligand based on p-tertbutyltetrathiacalix[4]arene with a blocked 1,3-alternate conformation was synthesized by introducing thiomethylpropoxy groups on the lower rim, resulting in a neutral structure. The combination of this ligand (p-TCA-2) in the imposed 1,3-alternate conformation with tetrahedral Ag(I)SbF6 salt led to the formation of a neutral 2-D coordination network, which was structurally investigated using X-ray diffraction methods on a single crystal.

Summary: Four silver thiolate clusters with similar nestlike structures were studied, showing tunable solid-state emissions depending on the templating anions. The color of emissions could be adjusted from green to orange and then to red by changing the template anions, indicating a correlation to charge transfer between the templates and metal atoms. This work contributes to the understanding of the templating role of heteroanions and the relationship between structure and properties.

Summary: The presence of different encaged non-metallic elements leads to significant changes in intramolecular interactions and redox potentials of Lu2C2@C-2(13333)-C-74 and Lu2O@C-2(13333)-C-74, due to their distinct molecular orbital energy levels. The absence of Lu-2@C-2(13333)-C-74, in which the HOMO is mainly delocalized on the internal Lu-Lu bond, accompanied by a smaller HOMO-LUMO gap, suggests that the presence of a non-metallic unit broadens the electrochemical gaps and improves the kinetic stability.

Summary: Under the guidance of anion templates V10O286- and SO42-, the novelty of cluster assembly can be increased by using different carboxylate ligands. In this work, three anion-templated silver thiolated clusters were synthesized and characterized. The results showed that the addition of different organic shells and the use of different templates can lead to the formation of discrete clusters or clusters with a three-dimensional structure. This study provides important insights into the assembly process and the potential applications of these silver clusters.
