Summary: In this work, a novel deep-red iridium complex is developed for phosphorescent emission, with suitable physical properties. The compound exhibits balanced charge-transporting ability, good film-formation property, and low concentration sensitivity. The doped device displays high efficiencies, long device lifetime, and stable electroluminescent spectra.

Summary: Compared with inorganic dielectrics, polymer-based gate dielectrics have advantages of flexibility, structural adjustability, and low cost in organic thin-film transistor devices. In this work, we designed and prepared three aromatic polyimide (API) gate dielectrics with double alkyl side chains, which can be easily processed into smooth, nonpinhole films with low surface energy. These materials exhibited low leakage current densities, small dielectric loss, and good thermal stability. By fabricating transistors, it was found that the modified API materials as gate dielectrics have the potential to achieve high mobility and low threshold voltage OTFTs.

Summary: In this study, a series of novel imide- and core-substituted naphthalene diimide (NDI) molecules were designed and synthesized, with the molecular architecture altered by introducing different alkyl side chains and a cyano group. These compounds displayed similar photophysical properties but exhibited different electrochemical properties. The OTFT performance of NDI-TCF1A and NDI-TCF1B was more consistent than NDI-TCF2A and NDI-TCF2B, suggesting that the number of cyano groups affected performance through the thin-film morphology.

Summary: The synthesis and X-ray crystal structures of dirhenium complexes of 2-(methylthio)benzothiazole and 2-(ethylthio)benzothiazole were reported. The complexes were isolated as orange crystals with moderate yields and characterized by elemental analyses and spectroscopic methods, showing good agreement between optimized bond lengths and experimental X-ray data using the DFT method.

Summary: This study reports the formation of dinuclear complexes from thiophenolate ligands, as well as the photochemical oxidation to sulfinates, leading to the discovery of tunable photophysics depending on the 1,2-diimine ligands. Different ligand conditions result in various types of complexes, with photooxidation yielding previously unreported Pt(IV)-SO2R complexes exhibiting multiple absorption characteristics.

Summary: This study synthesized bioactive and luminescent cyclometallated iridium complexes with benzimidazole derivatives as auxiliary mimics of nucleotides. The complexes exhibited orange and green emission, with increased quantum yield under anaerobic conditions. The complexes also showed enhanced antiproliferative activity against lung cancer cells upon irradiation, making them potential candidates for photodynamic therapy.

Growing evidence refutes the claim that wireless technologies pose no risk to human health at current safety levels. The potential non-thermal effects of microwave exposure on electrically-excitable tissues, especially the heart, remain controversial.
