Summary: We synthesized a novel coordination compound Cu(H(2)DAPZCA)2(ClO4)(4)center dot 5H(2)O, which exhibited higher ClO4- content, acceptable thermal stability, good mechanical sensitivity, and outstanding detonation performance. This compound also had a low energy threshold for laser initiation and could be used as both a primary and secondary explosive.

Summary: Based on the ideas of coordination and design chemistry, a new strategy was proposed to overcome the limitation of the number of oxidizing acid radicals in energetic coordination compounds. A multi-functional type energetic coordination compound, Cu(HAMPZCA)(2)(ClO4)(4)center dot 2H(2)O (ECCs-1), was designed and synthesized. ECCs-1 exhibited a double-type ionic-salt coordination compound structure, with more ClO4- ions, higher OB value, and excellent detonation performance.

Summary: The expanding toolbox of functionalization chemistries allows for selective installation of moieties on specific sites of a substrate, making it the foundation of modern organic and biochemical syntheses. In the field of lithium-ion battery electrodes, the installation of mobile guest ions in specific interstitial sites plays a crucial role. However, the site-selective positioning of cations with atomic precision is still unexplored. This study demonstrates the use of topochemistry to achieve site-selective positioning of Li ions in a 1D z-V2O5 insertion host, providing unprecedented structural insight into fully stuffed frameworks critical for high-energy-density intercalation electrodes.

Summary: Luminescent materials are gaining attention due to their valuable characteristics and wide range of potential applications. In this study, a metal-ligand interaction approach was used to create cross-linked luminescent polymers based on multiligand polysiloxanes and organoeuropiumsiloxanes. These polymers were fully characterized, and their physical, mechanical, self-healing, optical, and thermal properties were studied.

Summary: The combination of strong electron-withdrawing groups in cyclometalated N-heterocyclic carbene ligands with known beneficial auxiliary ligands in phosphorescent platinum(II) complexes results in efficient light-to-deep-blue emission with quantum yields of up to 92%. The compounds were characterized and studied for their photophysical, electrochemical, and thermal properties, with three complexes being characterized by solid-state structures. Density functional theory calculations were performed using PBE0/6-311G* with dispersion correction.

Summary: The acylation reaction between magnesium enolates of acetophenones and calixarene-based 1-acylbenzotriazoles was systematically studied, resulting in the synthesis of rarely available cone and 1,3-alternate calix[4]arenes with 1,3-diketone groups. The expandability of this synthetic approach towards multifunctional macrocycles was explored, and the ability of the deprotonated calixarene bis(1,3-diketones) to bind transition metal cations was confirmed.

Summary: We report a cooperative palladium- and Bronsted acid-catalyzed strategy for the first enantioselective annulation of in situ generated alpha,beta-unsaturated N-acyliminium ions with chiral metal enolates. Novel polycyclic oxoisoindoles with three contiguous stereogenic centers were obtained with good yields, excellent enantiocontrol, and moderate to good diastereoselectivity. The utility of this process was demonstrated by their conversion to synthetically valuable scaffolds.

Summary: In this study, a simple and effective method, M-fluoroiodobenzene (CFI) electrolyte additive, is used to protect lithium metal anode. The results show that the additive can be adsorbed on the lithium anode surface and form a LiF-rich solid electrolyte interface (SEI). It was found that the M-fluoroiodobenzene additive can passivate the lithium anode interface and prevent severe side reactions, leading to improved battery performance.

Summary: A series of neutral Tb3+ complexes with 4,4,4-trifluoro-1-(2-furyl)-1,3-butanedione (TFFB) and 2,2' bipyridine auxiliary units have been synthesized. The prepared complexes are conducting and can be used in opto-electronic devices. The binding of ligands with Tb3+ cation was supported by FT-IR and H-1 NMR spectral analyses. The emission patterns of Tb3+ ion showed sharp peaks at around 491, 547, 583 and 620 nm. The electrochemical investigation measured the energies of HOMO and LUMO. The color parameters confirmed the green luminescent nature of prepared complexes, supporting their potential use in designing OLEDs.

Summary: The study focuses on the properties and structure of a newly synthesized azo compound containing an antipyrine moiety, including electronic structure, vibrational frequencies, and nonlinear optical characteristics. A linear correlation between the Mulliken atomic charge of oxygen atoms and calculated wavenumbers was observed, combining experimental results and theoretical calculations. Optical properties of the compound were investigated using spectroscopic techniques, with numerically simulated diffraction ring patterns showing reasonable agreement with experimental findings.

Summary: The kinetic recoil energy from nuclear decay can significantly impact the structure of chemical systems, with resulting element changes possibly leading to structural reorganization. Using QM-MD and PM7-MD simulations, this study investigates the dynamics following the beta-decay of Ag-111 to Cd-111, revealing rapid and uniform distribution of kinetic recoil energy in the studied scenarios.

Summary: Crystal structures of metal chelate and related complexes in the Cambridge Structural Database were analyzed, revealing that the distribution of angles between ligands in beta-diketonate complexes is relatively broad, while other ligands like 2,2'-bipyridine result in narrower distributions. Furthermore, density functional theory calculations showed that angular distortions require less energy for M(beta-diketonate)(3) than for M(2,2'-bipyridine)(3). These differences are likely to impact the construction of supramolecular systems using different combinations of metals and ligands, affecting the likelihood of obtaining desired structures.
