Summary: High crystalline ZnO nanorods were successfully synthesized on Zn pre-deposited graphene/Cu sheet without graphene transfer process. The pre-deposited Zn metal on graphene acts as a seed and passivates the graphene. This hetero-nanostructure showed promising results in terms of photocurrent and absorption characteristics.

Summary: The development of a simple and rapid technique to form structural colors without toxic dyes or heavy metals is important. A novel method using plasma etching to achieve structural color is presented. The color changes with the plasma irradiation time and can be controlled by using a masking plastic plate. This method can also be applied to color paper using pencil as the pigment.

Summary: The unprecedented structural flexibility and useful optoelectronic properties of hybrid halide perovskites have sparked high interest. However, there is a lack of systematic studies on the relationships between the topology of 1D hybrid halide perovskite-derived structures and their optoelectronic properties. This work introduces a rational classification of 1D hybrid lead iodide structures and shows that the distortions of PbI6 octahedral chains are the main parameters affecting the band gap, while the distance between the chains has a minor effect.

Summary: This paper applies the impedance spectroscopy technique to study the charge dynamics of a novel photoelectric element made of lead-free perovskite material at elevated temperatures. The results show that device performance degrades at 54 degrees C and traps in the perovskite layer are thermally activated at 35 degrees C. The charge transport resistance is frequency-dependent and interfacial capacitance increases with charge accumulation. The high-frequency plots are related to photon-induced charges, while low frequencies affect ion transfer and space charge accumulation.

Summary: Organic-inorganic hybrid lead halide perovskites are highly versatile materials with potential applications in photovoltaics, light-emitting materials, and other photonics applications. In addition to three-dimensional bulk films and crystals, lower-dimensional hybrid halide perovskites with unique electronic and optoelectronic properties have been developed. This study demonstrates a one-step synthesis of two-dimensional layered lead bromide perovskites using laser ablation, which resulted in periodic multilayer structures with blue emission from quantum-confined excitons. The interlayer spacing was controlled by the alkyl chain length of the amine additives. These findings present a simple method for fabricating novel functional compounds using metal halide perovskite layers and intercalated optically active molecules.

Summary: When particles are assembled between two parallel flat walls, unique structures are formed that are not observed in bulk systems. The structures created depend on the distance between the walls. Using isothermal-isobaric Monte Carlo simulations, this study investigated the structures formed by particles in thin systems, where the interaction between particles is described by a hard-core square shoulder potential. By adjusting the width of the repulsive interaction and the system width, novel structures such as rhombus connections and square lattices of the (100) face of the body-centered cubic lattice were observed.

Summary: Ring-opening polymerization of benzoxazine monomers is a complex process that results in the formation of various chemical structures such as N,O-acetal structures, phenolic Mannich structures, and arylamine Mannich structures in polybenzoxazines. The polymerization routes, chemical structures, and thermal properties are influenced by factors such as temperature, time, and solvent polarity. Different structures exhibit varying thermal stability, with arylamine Mannich structures possessing lower initial decomposition temperature but higher char yield due to the presence of thermally unstable iminium ions and anchoring of dangling aniline moieties.

Summary: Rubbery biodegradable cross-linked PTMC networks were prepared by gamma irradiation, with PETA showing better crosslinking efficiency compared to TMPTA and PET4A. Networks with high gel fractions and tensile strength could be obtained by adding 7 wt% PETA. Increasing irradiation dose led to reduced gel content and network density, resulting in decreased mechanical properties. Ethanol-extracted PTMC networks exhibited better flexibility and mechanical properties, contributing to their potential in soft tissue engineering applications.

Summary: Lead-acid batteries dominate the global market due to their simple technology, easy fabrication, availability, and mature recycling processes. However, the sulfation of negative lead electrodes limits their performance, but incorporating various forms of carbon can significantly improve their overall health. Carbon plays a vital role in advancing the properties of lead-acid batteries, leading to the development of lead-carbon hybrid batteries and supercapacitor systems for enhanced energy-power density and cycle life.

Summary: Nanocomposites formed by MoS2 nanotubes with P-modified SWCNT and BCNNT through solution-phase flocculation show enhanced photocatalytic and electrocatalytic HER activities. The H2 yield improves with higher proportion of MoS2 nanotubes, with the MoS2-P.SWCNT (3:1) nanocomposite exhibiting the highest H2 evolution rate. Electrostatic stacking of 1D MoS2 nanotubes with SWCNT/BCNNT appears to be an effective strategy for HER and related catalytic reactions.

Summary: The formation of hierarchical porosity in HP HKUST-1 MOFs was investigated using gemini surfactants as soft-templates. The composition of solvent mixtures and reaction parameters played a crucial role in the successful formation of hierarchical porosity. The presence of mesopores in the samples was proven through various characterization techniques, and a direct correlation was found between the hierarchy factor and dye-uptake, suggesting the potential of the hierarchy factor as a quantitative marker for hierarchical porosity.

Summary: In this study, HKUST-1 MOF composites with nanocellulose were prepared and investigated for CO2/N-2 gas separation and dye sorption applications. The composites were synthesized via a copper ion pre-seeding method to enhance the interaction between the MOF and the polymer matrices. The results showed significant enhancements in CO2/N-2 sorption selectivity and the composites were also studied as mixed-matrix membranes for free-standing applications.
