Summary: Laccases are polyphenol multicopper oxidases known for their structural and functional diversity in various life forms. The study compared the molecular and physico-chemical properties of fungal laccase isoforms from Ganoderma lucidum with recombinant bacterial laccases from Yersinia enterocolitica strains. Results showed differences in the conserved residues and stability of FLIs compared to rLac under different conditions. These findings provide insights into the evolution of catalytic efficiency and redox properties of FLIs.

Summary: Researchers isolated and characterized two phages from game animals, which showed a broad host range and effectively lysed various serotypes of Yersinia enterocolitica. These phages also demonstrated lytic activity against different strains of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis under specific conditions.

Summary: Poly-proline II helices are secondary structure motifs frequently found in ligand-binding sites. The adhesin YadA of Yersinia enterocolitica serotype O:9 contains a poly-proline II helix interaction motif that plays an important role in the pathogenicity of Yersinia enterocolitica O:9.

Summary: This study demonstrates the importance of the NEDD8 cascade in the internalization of HSV-1 and HSV-2, while having minimal effect on the entry of veterinary viruses. The results provide new insights into the cellular processes involved in HSV internalization.

Summary: Spontaneous bloodstream infections caused by Yersinia enterocolitica are rare in patients without history of blood transfusion and present with atypical symptoms. Antibiotic therapy can be challenging due to unclear clinical presentations.

Summary: Researchers visualized the structure of Yersinia enterocolitica injectisomes inside infected human myeloid cells using cryo-electron microscopy techniques. They found that a minimum needle length is required for injectisomes to contact host membranes and observed some injectisomes causing bending of host membranes.
