Summary: This study demonstrated that the combination of terbinafine and itraconazole achieved superior therapeutic effects in fungal skin diseases, with higher cure rates and shorter treatment time compared to monotherapy. The combined treatment group also had lower rates of adverse events and disease relapse during follow-up, and higher patient satisfaction levels.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the efficacy of fractional CO2 laser with 1% terbinafine cream and itraconazole in the treatment of onychomycosis. The results showed that both treatment methods significantly improved the Onychomycosis Severity Index at six months, with no significant difference between the two groups. This study is of importance for the treatment of onychomycosis.

Summary: Members of the FOS protein family play important roles in regulating gene expression and are involved in pathological conditions. Using zebrafish as a model, this study found that zebrafish FOS orthologs exhibit distinct spatiotemporal expression patterns during embryonic development and in adult tissues, and are regulated by oncogenic signals. This suggests that zebrafish can serve as an alternate model for studying the regulation and functions of Fos proteins.

Summary: The dimeric transcription factors AP-1, composed of Fos and Jun family proteins, play a key role in gene regulation. The overexpression of the Fos family protein Fra-1 in triple negative breast cancers contributes to tumor aggressiveness, while its actions in controlling transcription remain complex and involve a wide range of biological processes.

Summary: SPARC is a secreted protein that is abundant in bone tissue and is also expressed in non-calcified tissue. It has been found to inhibit adipogenesis by binding to c-Fos and inhibiting the formation of the c-Fos/c-Jun complex.

Summary: The study found that PRMT1 interacts with c-Fos, enhances AP-1 activity, and promotes gastric tumorigenesis. PRMT1-mediated methylation protects c-Fos from autophagic degradation and is associated with clinicopathologic variables and prognosis in stomach tumor. Targeting this modification could be a new therapeutic strategy in gastric cancer.

Summary: The AP-1 transcription factor family is composed of Jun, Fos, Atf3, Atf2/7, and Maf in the tunicate Ciona robusta, where they are mainly expressed in mesenchyme cells during embryonic development, with Fos also showing expression in notochord and neural cells. By ectopic expression in transgenic embryos, the study confirmed functional conservation of the AP-1 complex between Ciona and vertebrates in controlling cell movements and structural organization.

Summary: The chronic intake of arsenic trioxide in drinking water is associated with higher morbidity and mortality in neoplastic tissues. The study demonstrates that arsenic trioxide increases the expression and activity of NHE1 in MDCK cells, leading to cell proliferation through AP-1-dependent NHE1 activation.

Summary: Both social behavior and stress responses rely on the activity of the prefrontal cortex (PFC) and basolateral nucleus of the amygdala (BLA) and on cholinergic transmission. The study shows that time plays a modulatory role in the brain plasticity associated with stress-related activity, with normalized effects on PFC activation in B6 mice and PFC hypo-activation in beta 2(-/-) mice, but no effect on BLA. The study also highlights the involvement of cholinergic nicotinic receptors (nAChRs) in this plasticity and the role of social interaction in inducing functional connectivity changes within the PFC. Coupled with emotional state and social behavior, stress leads to significant alterations in PFC and BLA activity and cortico-cortical reorganizations.

Summary: In this study, high-molecular-weight urinary proteins (HMWups) in male black rockfish were identified by liquid chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) of urine. RNA-seq data and in silico analyses predicted the tissue distribution and gene structures of candidate HMWup transcripts. The HMWups were identified as lipocalin-type prostaglandin D2 synthase (L-PGDS) homologs through cloning, Western blotting, and cDNA sequencing.

Summary: The AP-1 transcription factor family plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle and has various functions in proliferation, differentiation, and stress response. This study shows that cFos can bind to DNA independently of cJun and can interact with DNA as both monomers and dimers.

Summary: Nogo-B is an important regulator of tumor angiogenesis, particularly upregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma. The expression of Nogo-B is induced by HIF-1 alpha and c-Fos in response to tumor microenvironments such as hypoxia and low nutrient levels.
