Summary: This article introduces a new topology of a DC-DC converter that reduces switching losses through an auxiliary switching circuit (ASC). The proposed ASC can function as either a passive or active circuit depending on the converter's voltage gain. This does not affect the main circuit's operation and is similar to a classic boost converter, allowing for the use of the same control circuits and methods. The ASC operates in synchronization with the control of the main converter transistor, offering a unique advantage of reducing transistor turn-off losses over a wide range of converter gain. This advantage is demonstrated through a comparison with a classic boost converter and a reference converter with soft turn off, supported by in-depth analytical discussions, simulation results, and experimental verification.

Summary: This article compares the conventional model predictive control (MPC) and active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) with a novel MPADRC technique for controlling a non-minimum phase behavior in the DC-DC boost converter. The effectiveness of the interleaving technique for the boost converter and the two-phase interleaved boost converter using MPC and ADRC is also presented. The novel technique combining MPC and ADRC in the outer and inner loop with a boost converter shows the best response compared to the individual techniques.

Summary: This paper proposes a solution to the practical constraints of the hysteresis modulation (HM) technique in sliding mode controller (SMC) by introducing an interval fuzzy controller. The compatibility and performance of the proposed controllers are tested through experiments and compared with existing techniques. The results demonstrate that the interval type-2 fuzzy controller maintains a constant switching frequency with acceptable dynamic responses and successfully regulates the state variables of the system.

Summary: This article investigates the shortcomings of buck converters with large input capacitors and nonlinear switching loads when using second-order BC schemes. A modified BC scheme is proposed to address these issues, with the verification of simulation and hardware experiments. The proposed method allows the converter to operate at designed BC parameters independent of load capacitance and system parameter variations, as highlighted through comparisons with conventional BC methods.
