Summary: This paper proposes the design and fabrication of a wireless charging system for extending the working range of UAVs. By optimizing the magnetic coupler, designing a wireless charging circuit topology and a closed-loop power controller, and developing a wireless charging station with position correction aid, high efficiency and precise alignment charging can be achieved. Experimental results demonstrate that the system meets expectations.

Summary: This article presents a complete design solution for a 6.6 kW wireless power transfer system in electric vehicles using compact self-resonant (SR) coils. The article analyzes the high-frequency parasitic capacitance introduced by magnetic and conductive shielding materials and proposes a shielding geometry optimization method. Prototype aluminum-backed SR coils are fabricated to validate the modeling. The article demonstrates the first 6.6 kW WPT system for EV charging using compact megahertz-SR coils with a complete magnetic and conductive shielding implementation.

Summary: This article proposes an accurate coil positioning method for the wireless charging system by sharing the primary coil to generate a dc magnetic field. Through automatic identification of core-placement coefficient G and noise suppression, positioning accuracy is greatly improved, with over 97% of samples having positioning errors of <2 cm. The positioning system has also been successfully applied in a 1-kW prototype for automatic changing of compensation capacitance to improve misalignment tolerance.

Summary: This novel displacement detection method reduces the influence of excitation coils on displacement detection and improves sensitivity. By using a core multiplexing and frequency discrimination method, it can detect displacements along x- and y-directions simultaneously. Experimental results demonstrate the practical application value of this method in an active magnetic bearing system at 2500 rpm.

Summary: This work presents a novel structure LC resonant passive wireless gas sensor to mitigate substrate interference. The LC sensor antenna and the reader antenna in the new structure were designed and optimized using HFSS software for improved transfer efficiency. The superiority of the designed structure was highlighted and verified. The newly developed sensor structure not only prevented interference from the substrate during gas sensing testing, but also expanded the choice of sensor substrates, playing a critical role in the development of sensors based on the LC resonance principle.

Summary: The APC IPT system utilizes symmetric planar coils to avoid compensation circuits, resulting in higher reliability and a compact configuration. Design guidelines for developing transmitting and receiving coils are derived based on the principles of maximum power transfer and maximum energy efficiency. Experimental validation demonstrates that the APC IPT system is a good candidate in wireless power transfer applications.

Summary: Investigation on the plasma and electrical characteristics in an inductively coupled plasma with different antenna positions was conducted. The ion density at resonance is significantly higher in setup A compared to non-resonance, whereas there is no significant difference in setup B. The difference is analyzed and discussed with respect to electron kinetics effect and antenna-metal plate coupling loss.
