Summary: This article develops an integrated zero common-mode voltage (ZCMV) modulation algorithm that guarantees better current quality and eliminates common-mode voltage when dual-parallel neutral-point-clamped (NPC) inverters are treated as an integrated system. Specially designed switching sequences are used to maintain a balanced neutral point and zero averaged circulating current, ensuring the normal function of the parallel NPC inverters. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the integrated modulation in eliminating common-mode voltage and reducing output current distortion.

Summary: This article proposes a distributed controller that reduces voltage distortion in the system while achieving good harmonic current sharing among inverters. Compared to existing communication-based methods, the proposed scheme reduces congestion in the communication network and only requires two bits per harmonic frequency to be communicated among inverters.

Summary: This article presents a finite-set model predictive control (FS-MPC) method applied to the shunt active power filters (SAPF) with two parallel inverters. The method ensures the sinusoidal shape of the grid current, high power factor, and suppression of circulating and offset currents. The results show that the SAPF with FS-MPC has competitive efficiency and can be applied in industrial and residential applications.

Summary: This article introduces a carrier phase shifting technique for reducing harmonics in networks of asymmetric parallel-connected inverters, which is decentralized and optimal, leading to significant reductions in harmonic power and universal improvements. The proposed technique outperforms existing methods in terms of practical implementation benefits, such as improved robustness and reduced cost. Experimentally validated on a network of three single-phase 2-kW inverters, the technique demonstrates a 36.5% reduction in harmonic distortion and the ability to dynamically converge to optimal carrier phase spacing in both steady state and transient conditions.

Summary: This paper introduces a novel pd-type multilevel inverter topology that can generate low total harmonic distortion and voltage stress across the switches, while minimizing the number of components. By using cascaded connections, the output voltage levels can be expanded, making it suitable for medium- and high-voltage applications with different numbers of dc links. The use of nearest level control modulation technique enables minimum THD at the output.

Summary: This article proposes a FCS-MPC method for reducing the conducted common-mode electromagnetic interference (EMI) and current total harmonic distortion (THD) in permanent magnet synchronous motor drive systems. The method allows all active voltage vector (VV) transitions without peak common-mode voltages (CMVs) and compensates for the nonlinearity of the inverter output voltage caused by the dead-time effect. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed through simulation and experimental results.

Summary: This study proposes a control technique to improve the efficiency of distributed generation inverters, which can operate in both grid-connected and stand-alone mode. By using a harmonic elimination pulsewidth modulation scheme, harmonics are eliminated and total harmonic distortions are reduced to enhance performance. The results show that the output voltage is regulated for varying load conditions, with a THD of 2.4% observed under different load conditions.

Summary: This article proposes a new space-vector modulation method called 12-section SVM (12SSVM), which effectively eliminates the spikes in common-mode voltage (CMV) by dividing the vector space into 12 sections and avoiding simultaneous switching of legs in cross-sectional areas. The 12SSVM demonstrates lower total harmonic distortion compared to other reduced CMV SVMs and proves its feasibility and effectiveness through simulations and experiments in a three-phase inverter.

Summary: This brief introduces a bidirectional asymmetrical multilevel inverter (MLI) that can generate an AC output voltage with up to 15 levels using a single DC voltage source and low component count. The topology consists of a transformer, an H bridge on the primary side, and asymmetrical cells associated with bidirectional switches on the secondary side. Staircase modulation is employed to reduce harmonic content, and a comprehensive analysis is provided. An experimental prototype rated at 1 kW is designed and implemented in the laboratory to validate the theoretical claims.

Summary: This article examines the effects of adding a notch filter to single-phase power factor correction rectifiers and finds that it can improve the tradeoff between dc-link voltage dynamics and grid-side current THD. Additionally, it shows that the utilization of a notch filter can allow for a reduction in the value of the dc-link capacitance.
