Summary: The study shows that by using a polymer insulator-assisted thermal annealing, the contact resistance of organic field-effect transistors can be significantly reduced. Through an optimized solution process, the conjugated polymer is evenly distributed within the amorphous polymer insulator matrix with low glass transition temperature, resulting in improved contact with gold electrodes. This method is effective for improving charge transport and injection, and can be widely applied to enhance the performance of various conjugated polymers.

Summary: Controlling charge transport properties and morphologies of CP films is crucial for the practical application of CP-based OFET sensors. A processing strategy involving SVA and PNs significantly enhanced charge transport and surface-to-volume ratio of CP thin films. The PN2-P3HT films showed improved charge transport and surface-to-volume ratio after SVA, resulting in excellent responsivities and rapid response/recovery times in VOC detection by OFET sensors.

Summary: Organic semiconducting polymers offer good mechanical and optoelectronic properties, with solution processability for cost-effective device fabrication compared to silicon-based electronics. This study incorporates environmentally friendly carbohydrate side chains to enhance processability, and introduces a mild postprocessing treatment for solvent resistance. The environmentally friendly approach improves solubility in eco-friendly solvents without negatively impacting electronic performance.

Summary: This study proposes the design of a linear conjugated polymer by creating a chain polymer connected via bridging covalent bonds in one direction and retaining pi-stacked aromatic columns in its orthogonal direction. Three analogs of linear conjugated polymers with different aromatic cores and bridging groups are prepared. The Oxamide-PDI (perylene diimide) exhibits high crystallinity, wide light absorption, and increased stability, resulting in a remarkable oxygen evolution rate of 5110.25 mu mol g(-1) h(-1) without any cocatalyst. The built-in electric field in Oxamide-PDI enables efficient charge carrier migration and separation.

Summary: This study assesses the impact of interfacial electric fields on the electrochemical reaction kinetics of hydrogen electrocatalysis. The results suggest that the correlation between pzfc and HER/HOR kinetics may stem more from activation barriers to the reaction elementary steps rather than from electric field effects on solvent dynamics. Researchers propose that surface additives like caffeine may help elucidate the origin behind the slow alkaline HER/HOR kinetics and ways to manipulate it.

Summary: This study developed a molecular dipole control strategy to modulate the built-in electric field (BEF) in polymeric photocatalysts. A series of conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) with adjustable BEF were designed and prepared. The optimized CMP, CbzCMP-9, exhibited the strongest BEF, leading to remarkable photocatalytic performance in thiocyano chromones and C-3 thiocyanation of indoles.

Summary: Researchers have developed a photo- and thermostable anti-counterfeiting material by using photopatterning and thermal annealing techniques on a photoresponsive conjugated polymer. The stability of the material is achieved through interchain stacking promoted by thermal annealing and the desirable thermal properties endowed by the conjugated structure. This study provides a new strategy for the development of highly stable and secure anti-counterfeiting materials.

Summary: This study presents the synthesis and characterization of three conjugated polymers derived from PTQ10 with different oligo(ethylene glycol) (OEG) side chain architectures, aiming to develop derivatives with better green-solvent solubility. It is found that linear OEG side chains do not provide desired solubility, while branched OEG side chains significantly improve solubility. The solid-state morphologies of the OEG-based polymers are similar to PTQ10, and the device performance in bulk heterojunction solar cells varies depending on the OEG side chain structure. PTQ-6O shows comparable power conversion efficiency (PCE) to PTQ10, while PTQ-6bO2 and PTQ-6bO exhibit poorer performances. The presence of an extra carbon in the side chain of PTQ-6bO2 improves its PCE due to enhanced aggregation properties and solid-state morphology.

Summary: Polymer semiconductors have great potential for human-integrated electronics due to their solution processability and mechanical softness. The click-to-polymer (CLIP) synthesis strategy developed by the authors allows for the attachment of diverse functional units to pre-synthesized conjugated-polymer precursors, resulting in functionalized polymers with good charge-carrier mobility. This approach can advance the state of the art by enriching the functional properties of conjugated polymers.

Summary: In this study, an optical monitoring system was used to analyze the behavior of polymers during solvent vapor annealing (SVA). It was found that P3HT forms nanowires more easily and quickly than PPE. Surface morphologies examined using atomic force microscopy (AFM) also showed that P3HT has higher solubility in chloroform, leading to superior long-range order.
