Summary: The physics-informed data-driven approach is used for powertrain modeling and optimization of a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. Data-driven models for engine fuel consumption and battery state of health (SOH) loss are proposed and compared with other approaches. The driving cycle representing the commuting scenario is reconstructed based on Beijing's traffic data. The parameters of the hybrid powertrain are further optimized using the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II (NSGA-II), resulting in reduced fuel consumption and battery capacity loss.

Summary: This article introduces the opportunity of introducing partial autonomy in internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles by using electronically actuated systems. Accurate transient and steady-state response characteristics are necessary for controllers of total or partial autonomy of vehicle motion. The article proposes a novel model for the planetary gear set and data-driven models for traction coefficient and equilibrium force ratio of the continuous variable transmission (CVT). It also designs a rule-based CVT controller and a directional control valve (DCV) model to study the utility of the proposed models when combined with existing models of powertrain components and vehicle dynamics. Three case studies are conducted to validate the ability of the models to capture transient and steady-state characteristics.

Summary: Longitudinal in vivo monitoring of transplanted cells is crucial for cancer research and treatment assessment. MRI offers high spatial resolution and soft-tissue contrast, but suffers from low sensitivity, requiring high concentrations of contrast agents. Photoporation provides an attractive alternative for efficient delivery of contrast agents into the cytosol, avoiding the quenching effect and improving MR signal intensity.
