Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effect of a 12-week home-based abdominal exercise program on inter-recti distance (IRD) in women with diastasis recti abdominis (DRA) 6 to 12 months postpartum. The results showed that the exercise program did not improve or worsen IRD, but it increased abdominal muscle strength and thickness.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effect of pelvic floor muscle and abdominal exercises on the inter-rectus distance (IRD) in pregnant women with diastasis recti abdominis (DRA). The results showed that pelvic floor muscle and drawing-in exercise increased the IRD, while headlift, curl up, and diagonal curl up decreased the IRD. Additionally, there was an increase in the IRD from gestation week 27 to 37.

Summary: Diastasis recti is characterized by a separation of the rectus abdominis muscles, diagnosis is mainly based on history and physical examination, classification schemes based on inter-rectus distance and defect location have been created, imaging modalities can aid in classification and surgical planning for rectus diastasis repair.

Summary: Pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain can have negative effects on women's lives. This study found that the degree of pubic symphysis and rectus abdominis separation are associated with pelvic girdle pain shortly after delivery.

Summary: The study explores the application value of two-dimensional ultrasound and shear wave elastography (SWE) in evaluating diastasis recti abdominis (DRA) during different gestational periods. The results show significant differences in inter-rectus distance (IRD), thickness, and Young's modulus during different gestational periods. The Young's modulus of the rectus abdominis is correlated with IRD, thickness, and body mass index (BMI).

Summary: This study found an association between diastasis recti and incisional hernia after midline abdominal surgery. Surgeons can consider a lower risk, off-midline approach when discussing surgical risks in patients with diastasis recti.

Summary: According to EHS guidelines, mesh repair is recommended for concomitant diastasis recti (DR) and ventral hernia more than 1 cm. A bilayer suture technique is effective for hernias up to 3 cm, but may result in flawed skin appearance. Patients generally rated the operation results as excellent or good.

Summary: This study reviewed the indications and technique of using onlay mesh for correction of severe diastasis recti. Among 63 women who underwent abdominoplasty with diastasis repair, 4 had onlay mesh for severe diastasis repair without any postoperative complications. The onlay mesh demonstrated success by establishing natural contour in all patients.

Summary: Diastasis Recti Abdominis (DRA) is a medical condition where the rectus abdominis muscles separate by at least 2.7 cm. This often occurs in pregnant women due to fetal development. The primary treatment involves therapeutic exercises and the use of electromyogram (EMG) signals and machine learning to evaluate the correctness of the exercises.

Summary: In the postpartum period, primiparous women are concerned about abdominal appearance, and those with diastasis recti abdominis (DRA) are less satisfied with their abdominal appearance and report weaker abdominal muscles.

Summary: The THT technique has been proven to be a feasible, safe, and effective option for corrective surgery of primary midline hernias associated with diastasis recti. Short- and mid-term results are encouraging but further long-term follow-up studies are needed for confirmation.

Summary: The objective of this study was to assess the relationship between inter-recti distance (IRD) and various factors in women with Diastasis Recti Abdominis (DRA). The study found that increased IRD was associated with worse postural control, but did not have a clear association with abdominal muscle endurance, pelvic floor functions, and respiratory muscle strength.

Summary: This study explored the feasibility of abdominal binding and targeted trunk exercises for managing diastasis recti abdominis. The interventions showed positive effects on body image and trunk flexion strength, suggesting that physiotherapy interventions can be effective in improving these outcomes. Further investigation through a clinical trial is recommended to confirm these findings.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the reliability of surface electromyography (sEMG) in measuring pelvic floor muscle (PFM) activation in postpartum women and compare PFM activation between postpartum and nulliparous women. The results showed that sEMG had a certain level of reliability in assessing PFM activation in postpartum women, and postpartum women had lower PFM activation compared to nulliparous women.
