Summary: The study demonstrates the effectiveness of multimodal OCT in intraoperative diagnostics of acute mesenteric ischemia, providing real-time assessment of microstructure and microcirculation without contrast agents. The MM OCT images show significant differences between non-ischemic, viable ischemic, and necrotic small intestines, meeting the requirements of emergency surgery. However, improvements are needed to reduce motion artifacts in actual clinical settings.

Summary: This study demonstrates the impact of multimodal fusion on deep learning artery-vein segmentation in optical coherence tomography and OCT angiography, and explores the characteristics used in this segmentation. The performance of multimodal architectures with OCT-OCTA fusion is compared to unimodal architectures with only OCT or OCTA inputs. The results show that both early and late fusion architectures perform competitively. Saliency maps are used to identify the characteristics in OCT and OCTA images for artery-vein segmentation.

Summary: In this study, a non-invasive method utilizing Mueller matrix optical coherence tomography (Mueller matrix OCT) and deep learning is presented for quantitative characterization of zebrafish organ development. 3D images of zebrafish were obtained using Mueller matrix OCT, and a deep learning based U-Net network was applied for organ segmentation and volume calculation. The results revealed steady growth trends in the volume development of zebrafish body and individual organs, with successful quantification of smaller organs such as the spine and swim bladder. This approach offers a more intuitive and efficient monitoring method for clinical medicine and developmental biology studies.

Summary: Tamoxifen is a well-tolerated drug used in breast cancer therapy that inhibits the division of neoplastic cells targeting estrogen receptors. It has been found to have an incidence of ocular toxicity ranging from 0.9% to 12.0%, with higher doses increasing the risk. A rare complication of tamoxifen use is the development of retinopathy.

Summary: Photoacoustic microscopy is a hybrid optical imaging technology that provides high-resolution anatomical and functional imaging of biological tissues by imaging optical absorption contrasts with low acoustic scattering. When combined with other imaging modalities, it can reveal complementary information of tissues. Sharing the ultrasonic transducer or light source in a multimodal photoacoustic microscopy system can achieve intrinsically and precisely registered images. The recently developed penta-modal photoacoustic microscopy system features a dynamic focusing technique enabled by OCT contour scan.
