Summary: This study reveals that an individual's ordinal body mass index (BMI) rank in a reference group is a significant factor for life satisfaction, especially among women. The relationship between relative BMI and life satisfaction is influenced by group-specific social comparisons, particularly for women in urban areas.

Summary: The study found that individuals with severe obesity prefer walking and engaging in supervised moderate-intensity physical activity, often outdoors for 30 to 60 minutes, with the main motives being prevention of health problems and improvement in health. However, their self-efficacy to overcome physical activity barriers is lower when they have poor health or experience pain.

Summary: This study compared the changes in relative weight, adiposity, and psychosocial distress between children with severe obesity and children with mild obesity/overweight undergoing family-based obesity treatment. The results showed that family-based treatment was beneficial for severe obesity children and recommended before more invasive treatments. Future studies should assess the necessity of additional treatment for children with severe obesity.

Summary: This study evaluated the psychometric properties of SF-36 in older Mexicans. The SF-36 showed appropriate internal consistency, construct validity, and factor structure. It also demonstrated good discrimination between groups with and without chronic diseases. The Social functioning subscale had the least acceptable results, possibly due to different understandings among the older Mexican population.

Summary: This retrospective analysis evaluated the quality of life, physical performance, and dietary habits of medical students, as well as their relationship to each other. The results suggest that medical students do not have an increased risk or engage in health-damaging behaviors compared to the general population. However, incentives should be set to promote a healthy lifestyle during the demanding studies.

Summary: This study aimed to provide a Creole translation and French adaptation of the SF-36 and assess its psychometric performance among patients with type II diabetes in Reunion Island. The results showed that the SF-36 is adapted to Reunion Island in both Creole and French versions, although further research is needed to investigate French-Creole differences in perceived health status.

Summary: This study examines the factors associated with declines in physical health and function among women in midlife. The results show that declines in women's physical health and function between ages 55 and 65 years are relatively common. Factors such as baseline physical health, BMI, educational attainment, smoking, osteoarthritis, depressive symptoms, and cardiovascular disease are associated with clinically important declines in physical health.

Summary: This study aimed to explore factors affecting family health management during home quarantine and the effects of variations in family health management on individuals' health status. A total of 618 families were surveyed online using stratified random sampling. The results showed that factors such as gender, household income, and body mass index were correlated with family health management during home quarantine. The study concluded that increasing social support for individuals can improve family health management and individuals' health.

Summary: The Hungarian version of IPAQ-SF demonstrated excellent test-retest reliability but low-to-fair concurrent validity for moderate and vigorous physical activity, walking, and sitting time compared to objective criterion measures among Hungarian adults. This suggests that there are some limitations in using IPAQ-SF to measure physical activity levels.

Summary: This study investigates the association between individual biomarkers and allostatic load (AL) across three physiological systems (cardiovascular, inflammatory, metabolic) and all-cause mortality. The results show that elevated physiological burden measured by mid and high AL index is associated with a steeper increase in mortality than individual biomarkers.

Summary: Efficient hand hygiene is crucial for preventing microbial transmission. Alcohol-based hand rub is recommended, but a water-based hand rub procedure was also investigated. The study compared 27 nurse students and 26 random adults, and found that the ABHR method was more effective at reducing colony forming units than the WBHR method.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the associations between sociodemographic and clinical data, patient's knowledge and skills, relationship to healthcare professionals, and leakage from an ostomy. The most important risk factors for leakage were found to be non-adherence to international guidelines for ostomy placement, poor relationship with healthcare professionals, non-cancerous diagnosis, lack of knowledge and skills in ostomy care, use of convex baseplate, oval ostomy, and dependence on others for ostomy care. The independent variables in the model explained 31% of the variance in leakage.

Summary: Family conflicts have a detrimental effect on children's health. This study examines the association between household conflicts and the health of children aged 6-12 years and explores how this association may vary by socioeconomic status and multimorbidity in the household. The results show that conflicts are negatively associated with children's health, and this association varies depending on the level of multimorbidity and socioeconomic status.

Summary: This study investigated the correlation between cervical screening coverage in Denmark and socioeconomic, lifestyle, and biological factors. The study found that women who did not participate in the health survey had lower coverage. In multivariate analysis, predictors of low coverage included older age, being without a partner, retirement, smoking, poor self-rated health, elevated blood pressure, and elevated glycated hemoglobin.

Summary: The study aimed to examine the association between different patterns of physical activity over 36 years and all-cause and cause-specific mortality. It also investigated if this association varied by gender and body mass levels, and how changes in physical activity were related to mortality for individuals who were initially physically inactive. The results showed that engaging in at least 60 minutes of physical activity per week was associated with a significant reduction in mortality, emphasizing the importance of promoting all levels of physical activity in public health campaigns.

Summary: In the Danish population, approximately 10% of adults have undiagnosed, poorly regulated, or potentially sub-regulated diabetes. Therefore, it is important to provide relevant healthcare intervention for these individuals. A predictive model was built based on data from the Lolland-Falster Health Study, which was conducted in a disadvantaged health area of Denmark.

Summary: Studies show that patients struggle with adjustment to the ostomy in a broad spectrum of physical and psychosocial factors, and stoma care nurse follow-up is necessary. The study aimed to explore patient satisfaction and experiences using digital questionnaires before each consultation in stoma care nurse ostomy follow-up and to study adjustment to ostomy and health-related quality of life in routine follow-up 3,6 and 12 months after ostomy surgery. The results showed that the patients were satisfied with their follow-up using questionnaires before consultations and experienced improvements in daily activities, knowledge and skills, health, and health-related quality of life.

Summary: Obesity is associated with lower life satisfaction, and higher BMI is negatively correlated with self-reported global life satisfaction. Weight loss among individuals with BMI >= 25 is also associated with lower life satisfaction. However, in individuals with BMI >= 25 and good self-reported health, there is no relationship between weight loss and life satisfaction.

Summary: This study examined the determinants of non-participation in a health examination survey conducted in a rural, socioeconomically deprived area in Denmark. The study found that only about one third of the invited subjects participated, which is relatively high compared with other recent health examination surveys in Denmark. The non-participation rate showed a relatively flat social gradient across the studied determinants.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the effects of the MindPower program on symptoms of depression and anxiety among Norwegian high school students. The results showed some baseline differences between the intervention group and the control group. After implementing the MindPower program, there was a slight improvement in depression and anxiety symptoms among both boys and girls. However, the study did not find overall effects of the intervention.
