海报摘要

A simple approach is proposed to protect γ-Al2O3 porous structure from collapse under hydrothermal conditions. This approach is based on CVD of ethylene on the alumina surface at a temperature of 680°C. It has been established that carbon in C@Al2O3 samples is present in the form of nanocrystalline graphite with a graphene fragment size of less than 5 nm. It has been shown by XRD that the initial γ-Al2O3 transforms into boehmite during hydrothermal treatment, which leads to a decrease in the surface area by 80%. Whereas, a monolayer graphite coating of alumina under hydrothermal conditions contributes to the formation of a C@boehmite composite with a high specific surface area, stable under longer hydrothermal treatment. Thus, the graphite coating makes it possible to adapt γ-Al2O3 to hydrothermal conditions, which will allow using С@Al2O3 composites as a support for catalysts of various aqueous-phase reactions.
