海报摘要

Many methods have been used in measuring morphological characters. These methods were time-consuming, not for measuring all honey bee morphological characters and may have high errors. The main objective of this research was to develop a simple method for measuring morphological characters. The idea of the developed method was based on the combination of scanner with high resolution and a measuring program. After dissecting honey bees, body parts were scanned by the scanner and transferred to the computer monitor as images. These images were measured by Photoshop program. No significant differences were found between the developed method and the standard method by using binocular. This simple method can be used with honey bees as well as other species of insects.
