The first clinical direction article I received was quite fortunate overall, because the professor's evaluation of my article was average and he felt that the content was too little. However, it may be more in line with the editor's taste. I submitted it on July 7th. On September 12th, I received minor revisions, but there were many opinions, mainly from the reviewers who raised some questions they were interested in, but they did not necessarily require modifications. Because it was my first time submitting an article, I took each comment seriously and tried my best to improve it. For the data that couldn't be supplemented, I politely declined. However, because I was preparing for my graduation defense, I kept procrastinating and only submitted the revised article on November 30th after being reminded. It was officially accepted on December 19th. I think retina is relatively recognized for physicians in the field of fundus diseases. At least, it was a dream come true for me to have a retina article. The only downside is that it takes 6-9 months from acceptance to formal publication (I have seen articles submitted by my previous supervisor taking up to 1 year). Maybe it's because they only publish around 300 articles per year. However, it is very unfriendly for students who need to provide WOS retrieval for job applications. Finally, I sincerely thank retina and hope that in the future, I can break free from the shadow of my supervisor and continue to work hard to do meaningful clinical work.
