Haha, this rating is what I feel based on the opinions of the reviewers.

破晓 2023-07-26

Where did you see the rating? I didn't see this information in the email I received after the first review.

机械狗 2023-07-23

First comment, I would like to share a little bit of my submission experience with everyone, hoping it will be helpful.

Here is a rough timeline:
4.17 Submission
6.05 Editor's comments: Revised and resubmitted (Reviewer's ratings: 9, 9, 9, 4; I evaluated based on the specific comments of the reviewers, any score below 5 is considered negative feedback)
6.27 Resubmitted
7.20 Editor's comments: Accepted (Reviewer's ratings: 10, 10, 3)

The journal does not have a chance for a second review, but the editor is quite friendly. Even if one reviewer was consistently negative, the editor still accepted it. Overall, the journal's processing speed in the field of robotics and engineering is considered very fast. The editor takes no more than three days from decision to providing results, and the impact factor is also increasing. I wish the journal continued success, and may everyone have successful submissions!

Very good journal, I wish the journal will become better and better.

blacklioneer 2023-06-22

Journal of the second-tier robotics, first-time submission, experienced multiple setbacks, and finally published. The advisors were not very familiar with this field, so instead of repeatedly modifying based on their guidance, I decided to submit directly and see the suggestions and opinions of reviewers in the same field. Their feedback was very professional, and in the end, my wish came true. I wish the journal continued to improve.

The initial review received positive feedback from all three reviewers. After the second review, it took over a month to receive a response, and the decision was pending in the hands of the editor for quite a while, taking six months in total to be successfully published online. Compared to my previous TAES paper, which took a year for the review process, the review speed of RAL was very satisfactory!

First submission, major revisions after the first round of review (received after nearly 2 months), rejected in the second round of review due to some remaining issues, accepted directly after the second submission with modifications (approximately 1 and a half months).

This is a letter, up to 8 pages at most, not bad. Submit other lengthy articles.

letPubstr 2023-04-14

Maximum 8 pages, originally 6 pages, with a charge for 2 pages. You can see it on the journal's homepage.

letPubstr 2023-04-14

It has been 10 days since submission, why is it still showing as "Received"? Is it this slow now?

bules 2023-04-14

The first review process takes approximately 50 days, and the manuscript is under review during this period.

ggvv 2023-04-14

How long does the first review take? Is it under review throughout the first review period?

bules 2023-04-13

It has been half a month, and the decision is still pending. Why hasn't the editor processed it yet? If they really don't like it, just reject it.

科研舔狗 2023-04-11

IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, even if you pay, can you only have a maximum of 8 pages? If you pay more, can you have 11 pages?

科研舔狗 2023-04-11

Is the maximum number of pages for this journal IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters only 8 pages? Can't we pay extra for an additional page or two?

It's been a week and there hasn't been any change in status! Has anyone else experienced this situation?

zhenning 2023-04-10

There were a total of three reviewers, who overall had a positive attitude towards the article;
The reviewers raised nearly 20 questions in total, which were very professional and difficult to answer;
The entire article was revised and additional experiments were conducted. After the revisions, it gained the approval of the reviewers and was accepted after 24 days;
The journal has high quality, so let's continue to strive!

Do we have to submit multimedia materials for this journal submission?

宝可梦大师 2023-02-24

October 31: Submit
January 1: Revise and resubmit
January 27: Resubmit
February 23: Accepted

There are strict deadlines for each stage of the review process, so the review efficiency is very high.

The reviewers' comments are all very professional and have greatly helped improve the article. Among them, there is a high requirement for the originality of the article and also for the experimental design.

Must change, cannot be exactly the same.

Muser 2023-02-16

I am not very sure about the rules of "Reject and resubmit" in RAL. I am doing a revise and resubmit instead.

Based on my previous experience with journal submissions, "Reject and resubmit" does not require a change in the title. It is essentially an opportunity to revise the manuscript. However, if the paper is rejected and then resubmitted as a new manuscript, I personally have not seen any explicit written requirements regarding whether the title should be changed. However, it is necessary to make significant changes to the content and to specify these changes in the cover letter, highlighting the substantial differences from the previously rejected work. (Note that many journals do not allow simple modifications of a rejected work to be submitted again. The specific submission guidelines can be found on each journal's website, so it is advisable to carefully review them.)

May I ask when will the notification for super page payment be sent after early access?

This publication has a limit of 8 pages, so the content needs to be well organized. The first time I submitted an article was because there was too much explanatory content, and I couldn't include the experimental results. I thought it would be enough to include a video for the experimental section, but it was rejected since I had the experimental data. I quickly submitted it for the second time, completing the experimental data. The second reviewer was almost the same as the first one, so it was quickly accepted with minor revisions.

Is this journal reliable for underwater image enhancement/restoration? I'm looking for articles related to this topic.

slowlyandfirmly 2023-01-25

Is it necessary to change the title of the paper when resubmitting a rejected manuscript?
